hah the world is getting worse again

Couple of weeks ago after 911, Pakistani-sheltered and supported terrorist struck a govt bldg in Kashmir, killing some people. India denounced the terrorists of coz but the USA held back and took a middling line. Cos America couldn't do w/o Pakistan for now cos of the Afghan war. Another example of the double standards the US took to expediate its short-term needs. :(

I agree in principle. I don't like that we're letting Syria in the anti-terrorist coalition--they should be an eventual target.

However the Pakistan-India thing is a battle of two mini-superpowers--I call them that because they have nukes aimed at each other. And we DO NOT want any of those nukes leaving their silos... that would lead to the BIG one, I'm afraid. (We don't want a nuclear war there even if it STAYED there, but it likely would not just the same.)

It's like the Cold War--the US and USSR had to put up with more of each other's sh*t once the MAD doctrine got underway....

That is the nature of war. Your enemy may become your friend...

Remember, the Soviets were no better than the Nazis, but we needed them and they needed the west.

Eddie Izzard summed it up petty good;
"Stalin was a murdering bastard like Hitler. Nobody cared though, because he killed his own people. Hitler was killing his neighbors...".

When the dust settles, rest assured we will go back to not liking Pakistan again.;)

Syria is a different case, and I am still scratching my head on that one.:confused:
