Half a million jobs lost in the states in November

There's *always* a chance, even of pink elephants falling out of the sky.

I'm continuing to stick with my belief that the economy will have low grade dysthymia for another year or two before taking some Prozac or sumtim.

Again, I do not see why Chapter 11 wouldn't save them elsewhere since their problems are with paying off debt, and Chapter 11 would give them protection from their creditors.
How exactly would this serve to 'save' the companies elsewhere? They're multinationals. They have interests and debts in other countries. I cannot see how Chapter 11 bankruptcy would protect Ford Motor Company of Canada, Ltd. or General Motors of Canada, Ltd. or Chrysler Canada Inc. Also, Chapter 11 is an extensively lenient type of bankruptcy. It may be more fail to call a filing under Chapter 11 a bail-out, since there is essentially no way, and there certainly is little precedent, for management of corporations to be removed from the company, or indeed, a way to ensure that companies have been appropriately restructured... save their failing yet again.
