HAND (Hydro's A New Dawn)

what is vincentz mod? , and by the way vincents been using this for my game and it works well :) thanks! by the way of topic playing on snail pace does it effect the ai being also expanding slowly ?

I had suggested these earlier personally to Hydro, so it was recommended I mention them here.

Public Restrooms - Requires Modern Sanitation & Civil Engineering + Sewage System & Water Pipes in City.

+1:health:, +10% Maintenance, +1:health: with Public Works

Pay Toilets - Requires Modern Sanitation & Civil Engineering + Sewage System & Water Pipes in City.

+1:health:, -5~10% Maintenance, +5%:commerce:, +1~+2:mad:, +1:health: with Public Works

I have a proplem with the terracota army wonder. I can build there only in weaker citys because they have tin. Is this a bug or a new option in the patch?

Yeah only cities near the polar region have tin, and there are weaker like normal cities. It is not better when the wonder can build when you have ceramic? It was like silk for the silkroad.

I have built it OK. It requires the "Clay Pit" building which can only be built on rivers.

@Hydro, yes I have played one game with HAND but can't comment on it yet ;).

HAND v1.2 should have the Clay Pit require a Marsh and not a River anymore. It also should not be a National Wonder anymore. If you have that then you should update from v1.1 to v1.2.

Note you must do a fresh install, no saving over the old files. Its easy to un-install. Just delete the "Hydro" folder and then put the new version in its place.

Hi Hydromancerx,

Frist -thankls for the modmodmod- its great.

I maybe missing something but i have a city with a farmed corn square in its radius and a path connecting it back to the city. However the special "Corn Building"(whose name escapes me) has not been highlighted in the city build options. Is there another pre-requisite i am unaware of ?

Its called a "Chinampas" and it requires it be a river city too.

Yep I found the problem. It was the same mistake I made for the Department of Water. Basiclly in the "Transportation_CIV4BuildingClassInfos" file I marked ...

Code:
<bNoLimit>1</bNoLimit>

when it should be ...

Code:
<bNoLimit>0</bNoLimit>

You can manually change it if you want. I am not sure if it would break saves. Or just wait until I release HAND v1.2 (which might be awhile).

EDIT: Looks like Grand Central Station had the same problem. So I fixed that as well.

First: thanks for the great mod. It's really fun.

Now, I didn't get the Department of Motor Vehicles to appear in my game, either. This was with HAND 1.2, and the NoLimit tag was already set to 0.
After I changed the tag

Code:
<iExtraPlayerInstances>-1</iExtraPlayerInstances>

to

Code:
<iExtraPlayerInstances>0</iExtraPlayerInstances>
it worked.

This probably has to be done for the Grand Central Station as well.

Hi Hydromancerx,

I cant seem to load any of my saved games(that have your mod), at the very end of the load process(100% task bar complete) Windows announces it has encountered a problem and is shutting Civ IV down. The final line in the PythonErr file shows "DEBUG: BugInit - game not fully initialized". No other untoward errors are seen. Should i try a reinstall of your mod or AND or ROM or all 3 or any other tips? Apologies if i should post this elsewhere

Pay toilets should give +1:health: with Private, not public works. I'd probably extend that to Corporate and Subsidized as well.

You should install in this order ...

1. Rise of Mankind v2.91
2. A New Dawn 1.73 (Patches are Optional)
3. You must install Early Buildings in AND. HAND files depend upon it.
4. Unzip into Mods folder. It should not override any files.
5. Make sure if you have an old version of HAND to remove the "Hydro" folder first before installing a new version.

If you did all that and still have an error, then come back and tell me what's your problem is.

Sure does make sense. But it leaves me to think, should only one or the other be built? From what I could find out about these kind of pay toilet systems, they phased out or were rejected due to unfavorable public opinion.

I'd say only one can be built. It's unlikely that a pay toilet system would raise any real revenues when there's a nearby public toilet system and would be scrapped.

Unfavorable opinion or not, if they turned a good profit they wouldn't be phased out (and the  faces represent that unfavorable opinion as well). Now that I think about it, Public Toilets might get +1:health: from Socialized, if you want to keep it realistic.

Yep- thats the exact order i installed. I have been playing fine for 700 turns and reloading saved games ok up to this point. I have one saved game that loads, and another a few turns later that crashes Civ IV when loading. Do you want me to upload the working and non-working versions ?

Ok a few more things...

1. Are there any other mods installed besides RoM and AND?

2. Do you have any of the AND patches? If not I suggest updating them all the way up to the current version so we can know its not an error that Afforess already fixed.

I have not messed with anything with Python so I would like you to try a game without HAND just to see if you get the same error. If you get an error then you will know its not HAND and then can post in Afforess's thread. If not then try a game with HAND installed again and if you get the error again then I will have to go through and see what I did to make such an error.

So far I have not gotten such and error nor has anyone else reported this. Which really confuses me on what the problem is.
