Has Twitter become better or worse since Musk controlled it?

If Musk ends up controlling Twitter, that would make Twitter:

  • better

    Votes: 25 26.0%
  • worse

    Votes: 71 74.0%

  • Total voters

He just wants to buy it so he can ban people who question his stupid pontifications.
Ι don't think he actually wanted to buy it, he just can't walk out of the deal now, apparently, without paying many billions as simple penalty.
But in the long run it might be far more disastrous for Musk to buy twitter, since he will just drive it to the ground and become more hated by the hundreds of millions of people using it. He already is dealing with far more public scrutiny (individuals) than before. (let alone having to pay 50 billion dollars to buy)

Not that twitter itself is angelic in all of this; they clearly are more interested in becoming mega-rich, than in keeping twitter as something prominent and popular. Still, it was Musk's blunder, they just take advantage of it.

Ok, I gotta ask. Why was it ever not abysmal to begin with? Sure, California has economically weaponized him and they have good PR, but seriously. He hasn't changed at all.

Its cool to hate him now, this wasn't always the case.

Right. I don't understand the second part, I suppose.

You might not agree with it, but I am sure you have the perception as to understand why people liked him in the past.

Right. Why? I'm asking.

Edit: I guess to be clear, I lack the perception you generously credit me with. He's really always been a massive douche propelled by an enormous government economy. I guess I can relate to the concept of that, at least some!

If?
It is a matter of when Musk owns Twitter.

He just offered like $50 billion in cash.
Something a peasant like Trump can only dream of doing.

Musk took control of Twitter today.

He fired the CEO, COO, and the head of legal.
They were escorted from the building I think.

Rumors are that Trump might be back on Monday, but advertisers are warning that's a red line.

I still think Musk overpaid by $40 billion and this will end in tears, but I'm no genius.

At least it isn't as crazy as spending $10 billion a year in cash on metaverse stuff.

I will laugh if the Biden administration somehow overturns this whole deal on national security concerns.
Not sure what that would look like.

**Edit**
I've read the Trump rumor is extremely unlikely.

Fixed CFO to COO.

It will be interesting to see what happens when an Elon Musk owned twitter encounters the EU
Commission regulatory approach (we'll fine you a few hundred million Euros to pay for our lunches)
and the equally absurd last millennium UK imperial thinking of Britannia ruling the ciber waves.

consummation like he f*d twitter?

In one parody their relationship makes so much sense.

Musk is what he is, but we should also recall that the people at Twitter still preferred to make their money by selling and couldn't care less about the platform's future.
Who's rushing to defend Twitter's management? I don't see anybody trying to, so why the comparison? :D

Just saying :) Ultimately, they are the ones who made the take-over possible. Musk just was reckless as usual and probably is on borrowed time (until tesla gets the long overdo check on stock price).

Ultimately, both parties did. Pivoting to "what about Twitter" kinda ignores the point of the thread, r.e. Musk being in control :)
