I think eveyone imagines what they will be as an adult.

Beyond fantasys such as a pop star or an Astronorght (having a dyslexic moment there)

Have you become what you set out to be?

Also i realise a lot of the posters here arn't old enough to have achieved anything as far as adult goals concern.. in that case, what do you want to be and why?

I always wanted to be taller when I grew up.
At 5' 9" I'm pretty average, so I can't really complain...

I never saw myself leaving home, and certainly not by 1,000 miles, at the age of 18 to study nuclear engineering, I'll say that much. At one point, I wanted to be a mapmaker, but now I realize that I would have enjoyed said occupation much more in 1550 than I would now.

sorry, i was half asleep when i did the poll (its 3.30am for me) and i have a exam tomorro.. im not even sure why i am here... i'll PM a mod to add it in

well, i never wanted to be anything when I was a kid. All I worried about is how to beat that video game or what book to read or who to hang out with.

did you chose the good or the bad kids?

Just graduated as an engineer in December, so yeah, I made it. Just remember kids, Legos are your friend.

I never really wanted to be anything when I was a child.

Well, I mostly remember wanting to be a train engineer; I don't think that going to be viable. However, sometimes I wanted to be a scientist, and that seem more viable (as I am in college in Pure & Applied Science).

Nope, i wanted to be a combat pilot when i was a little kid :) But as i grew up i found out mathematics were not for me.

Although I still do not definitely know what I will be in the next couple of years, I do know that it doesn't match the rare thoughts I had as a child.

I'm not a baseball player, football player, lawyer, or soldier.

i always wanted to a doctor or lawyer when i was growing up. i'm still working on the former.

I wanted to "Be like my Grandfather" who was a built beautiful furniture. Family insisted no occupation for a gril. This was how it went to get to accomplish what "I wanted to do".
1-Teacher 5 years
2- Back to school
3- Computer program writer and computer builder (26 years)
4- Retired 7 months
5-Bought a company that was failing - Guess what it did - Built Beautiful Furniture. Finally got to work at "What my Grandfather did". Was never happier that working in that shop. Sold co after 11 years.
Went round about way, but proof that "Never give up on a dream" is a good idea.

I used to want to be a computer programmer, but i learned that i was awful at Math. So i switched to being interested in Goverment and Politics. I was never really sure what job i wanted to have, other than the vauge idea of making my communites better places to live, and to weed out corruption.

I'm studying American poly sci now in DC. Im living the dream.

Plus, im a musician too. I'm a political rock star! :)

You and a singing John Ashcroft can go on tour! :yeah:

At age like 7-12 i wanted to be a fighter pilot and go to the air force academy at colorado springs.

When I'm older, I'd love to own a show hall (while like, teachin on the side or something to support it) and just have shows and support the wild youth movements that are around. Mostly I just don't want to grow up, which is weird, because when i was like, younger then thirteen i really wanted to grow up, and then after that i'm like crap i have to stay young.

Nope, but I'm on my way to being it (game designer.)
