Hawk03-5CC Persian Astronauts

I have to finish my turn in Rat 28 before I can play, I should finish that tonight, so I will do this probably tomorrow night. I guess I should've went ahead with this Sunday, I wanted to tassle a shot at it, but I guess he couldn't play it.

I think I'm losing my mind. I will play this tomorrow night. Blame it on COTM, I was trying to finish it before the submission deadline. Probably not going to, modern warfare is so time consuming.

:bump: Anyone playing?

I will tomorrow for sure, I'm trying to finish my COTM47 game before tonight's deadline. It's been such a hard game that I want something out of it. If someone wants to swap before tomorrow, go for it. Tomorrow, I am free, one way or another.

I have finished, but things have not went very well. We have a 2hp German archer standing next to Susa, and Leipzig still stands. Here is my turn-log:
Spoiler :

Pre-flight: CivAssist 2, Word running. Get the save loaded. Look things over.
Pull Immo out of attack range. Move wounded archer under cover of healthy archer.

Non-Combat:
Workers 2
Settler
Military:
Warriors 6
Archers 2
Spear 1
Immortals 1

Hit enter=>

IBT: Greeks boot, I comply. This puts us on the other side of their territory.

Turn 1, 1225 BC: Move Archers back to heal. Start mining grass at Susa.

IBT: German archer shows up near Leipzig.
Persepolis Settler=>Barracks.
Pasargadae Barracks=>Archer.

Turn 2, 1200 BC: Move settler west, we need to beat back Germany before settling in the north. Lower tech slider to 60%, Code of Laws next turn.

IBT: Code of Laws arrives, I choose Horseback Riding next.

Turn 3, 1175 BC: Invite German archer in for tea. He is in :trouble:

IBT: Nada

Turn 4, 1150 BC: Kill German archer clean.

IBT: Pasargadae Archer=>Archer.

Turn 5, 1125 BC: Move new archer to Leipzig, hopefully 3 archers will do the job.
Raise lux slider to 10% so Pasargadae and Persepolis can grow next IBT.

IBT: Nada

Turn 6, 1100 BC: Arbela founded on the west coast. 1 archer wins, lose 2 archers to one super spear, Leipzig not taken and the spear is an elite:mad:

IBT: For further humiliation, 3 German archers arrive.

Turn 7, 1075 BC: I back our spear and archer off. I lower tech slider to 50%, HBR next turn. Boost lux to 20% so Pasargadae doesn’t riot.

IBT: HBR arrives, next is Philosophy.
Persepolis Barracks=>Worker.
Pasargadae Archer=>Archer.

Turn 8, 1050 BC: Trade HBR to Greece for Mysticism.
Trade CoL and contact with Carthage to England for Map-Making.

IBT: Germans head toward Susa, this could be interesting.

Turn 9, 1025 BC: Nothing to do yet.

IBT: 3 German archers move beside Susa, this must be addressed! Greeks warn us, I say yessir I will leave.

Turn 10, 1000 BC: Kill 2 of the 3, losing 1 warrior, last guy has 2hp. Hope that the regular Warrior survives.

Non-Combat:
Workers 2

I am not real happy with how this turn-set went, so I hope the next player does better. We might be better off making peace with Germany for now and getting into better government and using Immortals to obliterate them, as Archers aren't cutting the mustard. The other option is hooking up the horses now and using horses for attacking Germany.
The save:

Or, we could use the Warrior to attack the archer- and have a better chance of winning.

If that fails, then peace.

If you haven't played yet Tassle, here's what I'd recommend: Use one of the units in Pasargadae to attack the archer via the roads. The warrior is too risky, but if the archer survives initial onslaught, warrior is emergency option. Pasargadae is making an archer next turn to solve the unit problem in the city.

I haven't played yet. I'm not sure if there are units is Pasargadae to attack with...

EDIT: New data- Germany is currently willing to give 40 gold for peace. Attacking the archer with a unit from Pasargadae will cause civil disorder. What do we want?

Will the civil disorder go in effect before it builds the archer next turn?? :confused:

If it does riot, then I think we should go for peace. Either way, this war has been pretty equal. Then, once we're at peace we can:

Develop our first four cities.
Get into Republic
Build up a stack of immos
Then when we're ready, we wipe Germany out and found city number 5.
After that, I think we should keep some peace. Then we can switch our Palace to Pasargadae.

I think we should try for the Warrior to attack the weak archer, if he loses. go for peace. Keep the archer in Pasargadae.

The disorder will prevent the archer from completing unless you boost the lux slider. I already lost one warrior trying to kill the &%@#!, so if we lose again, we better make peace and bide our time. There will be more wars.

Ok, so I should attack the archer with one warrior, and if it loses, sue for peace.

Which warrior? Attacking from Pasargadae will lead to disorder before the archer is built. Attacking from Susa will leave it undefended, and Germany might be less willing to pay for peace.

I'll play in a few hours.

Go from Pasargadae and raise the lux by 10%. Next turn the archers that are wounded need to heal anyway, so we'll get that MP back and you can lower the lux slider again. I'd hate to just hand Susa to Germany if its lone defender dies, at least a fortified regular warrior has a chance of defending successfully.

But it has a better chance of winning by attacking the archer.

OK, here's the deal:

Pasargadae redlined the archer, which promoted. Now we have a 2/4 archer standing next to the city defended by 1 reg warrior. If we make peace with Germany, we can get all their cash and a territory map for peace and contact with Carthage. We can also trade contact with Greece to Carthage for Gems, 10g, and a world map.

Or, we can risk the archer killling the warrior and losing Susa. I'm pretty sure peace is better.

Make the deals. We can go after Germany with Immortals later, annd erase them from our fair continent. It will delay getting city number 5 settled, but it beats losing city number 4.

Done. Finished Philo, started Republic at a minimum. Greece demanded Philo then declared war on last IBT.

Spoiler Turnset :
Turn 0- 1000 AD-Increase lux to 30%. Pasargadae warrior attacks, redlining the archer, then dies.
Get peace, 47GP, and a Territory map for Contact with Carthage. Get Gems, 10GP, and a World Map from Carthage for contact with the Greeks (they already know Lizzie). Lower lux back to 20% Hit Enter.
IBT- Persepolis Worker->Worker. Pasargadae Archer->Settler (Lower population)
Turn 1-975BC-I decide to build a colony for the horses. It'll be around 15 turns before we get them, otherwise. When Susa expands, it'll be unnecessary.
IBT- Carthaginian Warrior running around in our territory.
Turn 2- 950 BC- I ask Hannibal to move his warrior. Lower lux to 10%. Increase science to 80. Philo in 3, +2GPT.
IBT- The warrior is close to Susa, but he's probably going home. Persepolis Worker->Immo, German warrior healing.
Turn 3- 925 BC- Zzz
IBT- German archer gets close to Pasargadae.
Turn 4-900BC- Zzz
IBT-German archer is heading home. Germans are building the Oracle.
Turn 5-875 BC- I stick an archer on the horses. I doubt we'll need it, but it's better to be safe. Science->20%, Philo in 1.
IBT- Carthaginian Settler pair about to come through our territory. Either that or settle cxc and steal our horses (unlikely)
Finish Philosophy, start Republic, get confused when I don't get it free. Remember this is PTW :crazyeye:
Pasargadae Settler->Immo. Arbela Spear->Galley
Turn 6-850BC- Science at 80% only lowers Republic research to 36 turns. I figure it's worth it to go 40 turns if we get +18GPT (10%).
IBT-Carthage pair is going through our territory.
Persepolis Immo->Horse
Turn 7- 825 BC- Zzz
IBT- English are building The Great Lighthouse, and finish the Pyramids
Turn 8-800 BC- Zzz
IBT- Greeks building the Oracle and The Great Lighthouse.
Turn 9-775 BC- Notice Lizzie's got Math. She wants Philosophy AND 110 Gold for it, so it's not worth buying.
IBT-Greece demands Philosophy. There's kind of 2 civilizations between us... I refuse, and he declares. We're weak compared to Greece, but we should be fine unless he gets a dogpile. Our explor-a-warrior, however, is doomed.
Turn 10- 750 BC- Zzz

No pic, very little has changed in the map. The world/territory maps didn't show much.

Obviously, the AI doesn't know Persia's the one who's supposed to start wars with Greece when their demands are rejected!

THIS IS SPARTA PERSIA!!!!!

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Anyway, we of course will NOT use the Immortals for now. We have to wait for Republic first.
