A defense lawyer's role in the justice system is PRECISELY building the best possible case for their client (REGARDLESS of whether they believe that client to be guilty or innocent). Because what they believe does not matter to the justice system ; what matters is that every accused is entitled to the same treatment (innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt).

So in short: this thread shows very little wrong about Hilary, but a lot wrong about the OP's understanding of the justice system.

I don't agree that it is "very little wrong" for a person to knowingly say lies so as to defend one who raped a child.
And i really don't think that if true such a person should ever be given powers like those of the president of the US.

First off, it's entirely possible to defend someone you know is guilty without lying (or encouragement to lying). All you have to do is not put the accused on the stand, and instead just undermine the prosectution's evidence so they don't have proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

Second, BELIEVING in someone's guilt doesn't mean presenting evidence against it is lying. Belief is a personal opinion founded at least in part of faith ; it's very nature is that it can be wrong. It's entirely possible to make the case against what you believe without saying any single thing that you know for a fact is a lie.

In short: you are wrong about how justice works. If lawyers who defended their clients regardless of their personal feeling on his guilt or innocence were monsters who shouldn't be given any faith, we wouldn't have a working justice system.

Oh yes like you'd NEVER turn it into a political thing by making a whole thread about it, especially with Hillary Clinton announcing her run for office and all these threads magically appearing after the fact!

Besides, seems like she was doing her job as a prosecutor. I'm sorry to say prosecutors are supposed to get guilty verdicts based on the evidence just as defense attorneys are supposed to get not-guilty verdicts. Don't like it? Go to Saudi Arabia.

Don't most American presidents pardon criminals, a lot of them in jail for very serious crimes? Heck, don't American presidents pardon eachother so they can never get in trouble for crimes like authorizing torture?

I could have brought up all of the scandals she is involved in, but I didn't. Something like this should transcend politics because it is so deplorable. It's very sad and disturbing that for people like yourself it is only about politics to you.

Like I mentioned, it looks like she was doing the job a lawyer is supposed to do. That may include getting guilty people off or jailing innocent people. It's actually quite ridiculous that you would focus on this one former-lawyer and not on EVERY lawyer in the country that does this all the time and to this day.

The legal system calls for every defendant to be represented by a certified member of the bar, to the best of that person's ability. Would you have it any other way, really?

No, she did not. She presented alternative interpretation of the evidence, which is what defense lawyers are supposed to do. She also nailed the prosecution on destroying the evidence, which again is what the defense is supposed to do (because the defense is supposed to have access to the evidence, precisely so that they can analyze it and present alternative interpretations of it)

"Ensuring a fair trial" means EXACTLY doing everything (legal) to get your client off, no matter what you think of their culpability.

No it doesn't. It means delivering justice and protecting the innocent. In this case that was the child who was raped, but Hillary couldn't care less about her, or her rights.

The job of a lawyer isn't to get off guilty people. It's to ensure a fair trial. Getting off the guilty is the complete and total opposite of a fair trail.
