HOF Mod Support/Suggestions

Yeah, after seeing your post I checked the BTS forum and found that out. I'm off to EB at lunch to get my hands on a copy. Thanks.

Enjoy. I was burning midnight oil last night...lol.

I don't know how you guys got so lucky over there. Maybe it will show up here in US early too.

One thing everyone should be aware of is, that according to the grapevine, BTS comes with patches to both Vanilla and Warlords. We don't think the current HOF Mod versions will work with those patched versions. In any case, they won't be legal until we get new versions of the HOF Mods for them. (We will try to get them out ASAP.)

Any questions about accepting BTS submissions I will leave for superslug to decide/announce.

BTS does upgrade Civ IV and Warlords when it installs the new game. I tried to run my current try at the latest Major and get an error message when the save tries to load.

If I try and start a new game using the latest Warlords HoF mod, I get the same error message.

Only tried Warlods, not Vanilla but assume it will be the same.

Looks like I'm out of the HoF loop for a while then

There are a couple dual install tricks out there that people have used when new patches come out. You might look for instructions over in the GOTM forum.

Does anyone know where there is a good set of instructions for a dual install of Civ version?

(I guess as soon as we track that down we need to make a general annoucement since I believe it is best done before installing BTS.)

With everyone getting BtS and being too busy/incompatible to submit HoF and GOTM games, I might have a real chance of scoring well in the next guantlets and GotM! So no hurry on those upgraded mods! ;)

Soooo....

When will we see a BtS version of the HoF Mod? :mischief:
I delay the release of a new mod one day for every post making an inquiry like that. Right now, we're up August 25th...

....you don't want to know what year....:scan:

Is that a more unexpected answer?:D

or not...Denniz got those new HOF mods out fast  :goodjob:
Gathyaar did most of the heavy lifting this time. :hatsoff: Not much changed so we had most of the work already done beforehand.

I wouldn't hold my breath on a BTS mod, though. I don't expect to see my copy before the 24th. I don't know how long it will be before I stop playing it and look at the code. :mischief:

The new Warlords mod isn't working for me, it says the assets are different from a standard install. All I did was patch to 2.13 with the downloadable patch and then install the new mod. I can't reinstall because I'm missing my second Vanilla disc.

You need to patch Vanilla too.

I'm confused now. Do I need to install any patches or mods yet, or not?

No, not if you don't want to. We will still continue to accept 1.61 and 2.08 games for about a month, as mentioned in the the HOF Rules. At that time, than we'll start accepting only the 1.73 and 2.13 versions.

Do note that the upcoming gauntlets will more than likely require the latest patches.

Edit: It appears the patch rule I mentioned is not in the Rules as I thought. :hmm: I know I saw/read that here somewhere.

I remember removing that text at some point, but don't remember why, it IS still a rule.

Can you put the instructions for making the shortcut to automatically start the mod in with the instructions to change the ini file? Every time I install/reinstall/patch I always forget how to do it, and have to search the forums for 20 minutes to remember.

Right click shortcut icon, go to properties.
Target should look something like this.

"C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords\Civ4Warlords.exe" mod=\hof-2.13.001
