The B7A folder contains the Val-files(Val.ini, valDeath.flc and valRun.flc)
Not sure if it's because I installed the scenario wrong or what

I renamed the Val.ini file and got the game going

Lanz, Yes they are. Invisible except to the Border Guards if not mistaken. Now obviously not so invisible when your troops run into them!!!! ENJOY! I just wished I had a bunch of those buggers in China!! THough I do think that Eric should include some in the Chinese OOB.

Meanwhile...we are enjoying a Lovely Snow here in East Anglia!!!

Kuntis:
The Val and B7A use the same graphics for now, I was going to use a new
unit from Topgun, but it was not released in time. So I created a B7A folder to
make it easier to upgrade later. However I forgot to rename the .ini file.
Just rename Val.ini to B7A.ini and it should work fine.

From the Hinge_of_Fate_V3.txt documentation file:

Guerrilla Forces

These are Russian partisans, resistance fighters and Red Army. None of these units
can be built directly, they are auto-produced by wonders. All Guerrilla-type units
are invisible and have hidden nationality. Resistance fighters are controlled by the British
Empire while Partisans and Red Army are controlled by Russia.

A: Resistance fighters are auto-produced by the Resistance wonder. These units are weak
but highly mobile (ADM 1/1/2) and can be paradropped. They ignore the terrain costs of hills,
forests and swamps.

B: Russian Partisans are auto-produced by the Great Patriotic War wonder. These units are
weak but highly mobile (ADM 1/1/2) and ignore the terrain costs of hills, forests
and swamps.

C: Red Army (ADM 2/2/2) are auto-produced by the Long March wonder in Paotow. These
units ignore the terrain costs of hills, forests and swamps.

The newly established Panther Army Guderian retakes Bordeaux, killing 2 American Inf and a Marine Div.

Artillery bombardment of Maikop. 7/7 Panther Corp kills 3/4 Rifle Corp.
Heavy artillery bombardment around Moscow hits nothing... What have these gunners been smoking! But the bombers do slithly better, loosing 2 bombers, but redlining 3 units and bringing Southern Front to 6/11. German Inf Army crosses the river, attacks Moscow from behind and kills Southern Front, but takes heavy losses themselves (2/20). Six more various units are defeated at no German losses.

By the way: what are the prerequisites for building those worker troops? I tried to build some new, but all my cities allow only "ordinary" workers. (Even though the civilopedia entry leads to the advanced worker at 100 shields?! Must be a bug in the 'pedia.)

Cheers, Lanzelot

Rule Challenge!

As CW has not captured Benghazi despite several turns being undefended and several more under defended, control of the city has been given to the Italians of the Minor Axis. As it seems CW was inhibiting play by not capturing city despite having sufficient troops in the vicinity. While we will give full consideration to objections to our rule infraction, this seems a better solution than declaring war on an ally and we had no other recourse to save the Benghazi people.

Well? No comment? If this is not acceptable, I can re-play without it. I think it is within the spirit of the game but it not...

I must be thick in the head...why would it be desirable for CW not to capture Benghazi? My only consideration is that if allowed to occur once then why not for another to do the same to gain some tactical/strategic advantage?

Eric has had this rule in play since the HOF was created. I believe it is up to him to weigh the merit of your decision.

Sully

I re-played without it. Only difference being a few more hits at Maikop where the army finished 6/11.

CW gains nothing by taking Benghazi especially if they know I plan to re-take it. By leaving it as is with the German army evacuated, it cannot be used as a base for action. If MAx wants to attack Tobruk or other Mid East cities, its troops and ships sit exposed without a good place to retreat.

As I cannot attack Benghazi what other choices are there? There are some but none as good. Sorry to hold up the game I thought it was worth discussing. Apparently I was wrong.

The reason the rule is there is because in some of the early games
city trading was much abused. For example, Japan would give a city
in occupied China to Germany and then the entire German airforce
would rebase to China and bomb everything in sight.
This is not the case here and I really don't have a problem with
Benghazi going to the Minor Axis. We could add Benghazi to the "exception list"
with Paris and Plymouth. But we should play this game with the rules agreed to
at start, unless everyone agrees to the change.
