Everyone's offended, all the time. All these lawsuits and rules thrown around are intended to push special rules for special people.

There are some people who are "professionals at being offended".

I want to be part of this. I want to be able to tell people they're wrong and sue them because I don't agree with their personal sentiment. I want people to jump when I say jump, just because I have thin skin.

I want a special interest group with special privileges for people who are offended by people who are offended all the time.

How do I break into this gig?

Nothing offends me, but there does seem to be an unconscious feeling that does deny my ability to not be offended.

Am I offended that people around me do not accept me, because I offend them, even though I strongly hold that is not my intention? No, and why would I want to join a group that gets easily offended? Is the only reason for debate to declare a winner who feels good for a limited amount of time (or longer)? I thought that the reason for debate is to air one's thoughts, and it really does not matter who wins or looses.

If you say you never get offended, it means nothing that anyone does ever upsets, irritates, humiliates, shocks, etc, you. Even somebody being rude to you can be termed offensive.

Well, the best way to get paid to do it is to be a lobbyist, where you get to whine about 'unfairness' to the government until they change the rules to help you. The main risk is that you'll drink your own Kool-aid, and thus become a douche. But, that's an obvious risk to avoid ahead of time. Getting offended in defense of disadvantaged people doesn't pay nearly as well, though you might have an easier time drinking any Kool-aid that makes your arguments non-sensical.

Nothing offends me, because I realize that nothing can offend me. The second part was the qualifier that I do get offended, and I think there is a difference between the two. People who thrive on being offended seem pretty empty to me, and life is not about being empty, but being full.

I may change my stance if someone can convince me there are things out there that are offensive. Not even hate is that offensive. It is the total lack of understanding. So even if understanding seems impossible, you have at least understood there is a resolution, but one that may never come about. It is not even a feeling of superiority, because when you feel that way, something will offend you, and you will have to start back over in humility. Or be a smug jerk, and then you are back on empty again.

I recall a time in my city's history when the mayor and two of the aldermen were all suing and countersuing each other for some dumb negative remarks somebody made. They were all at least upper middle class white men. It was all quite embarrassing during that time, to think these idiots were running the city and representing our city to other municipalities and groups.

I was working in a Fred Meyer gas station a decade or more past. A rich guy pulled in with his own million dollar bus and he jumped out and started yelling at me..."Your diesel is too expensive..." I cut him off... "I don't have any diesel." Jerk: "What?" Still with a raised voice. "My car runs on gas. If you want to talk to whoever owns the diesel being sold here you'll have to talk to a stockholder. Me, I don't get paid enough to listen to complaints that should go to someone like that. Now, you want to purchase some of his expensive diesel?"

Some people are born offended and try to make everyone around them offended. When they see that they cannot they calm down, but I would not want to be that guy, no way.
