How do we picture eachother?

I don't see how this is different from Alternative Member's Photos, except played a little more straight. Anyways, if people have a portrait for an avatar, that's who they are to me. And yeah, I'm in.

I'm the same, which is why I'm always disappointed you're so clean shaven whenever you post a pic of yourself. Ruins the illusion :(

I image Downtown as a slick, Twenty-something, hipster, either composing ideas, or analyzing society around him. Kind of a cross between Bob Dylan and Samuel Jackson, but refined and literate. Writes a lot.

Go ahead and visualize me. More than one person told me they imagined me as a person from the South.

Tall, thin, black guy, with a goatee for some reason. Geographic origin vaguely tied to the Potomac area.

Have at it.

Distinguished looking old southern gentleman with a cheeky grin. Albeit without that demographic's stereotypical slow speech patterns.

And obviously, I grant permission to visualize me.

I'm so in there

To quote Berlusconi, you're a well-tanned blues man. Like the blues brothers. But well-tanned.

Someone do me.

Your member photo was a bit of a shock to me, because you don't much look like Eran, so all my preconceived notions were popped. No image.

Someone do me.

A hulking lumberjack Canada-man in overalls, living in the boondocks (boonies) a good hour away from the city. A bit French and English.

I have this same thing. Usually I picture people as their avatars at least if they are anthropomorphic. And even if they're not, I somehow associate posters with their avatars (though I know Bigfoot isn't a microphone).
Are you sure? Inanimate objects are getting pretty clever these days... :crazyeye:

And obviously, I grant permission to visualize me.
Obviously you look exactly like Jurgen Prochnow, since according to Heretics of Dune, Miles Teg looks almost exactly like an older version of Duke Leto Atreides would have if he'd survived the Harkonnen attack in Dune. :p

I give permission, but please keep it clean... (should be interesting, since you will not find a RL photo of me anywhere on the 'Net)

See – I have him as a somewhat yuppie-ish late 20 something family man who says he is happy to be Canadian, but somehow always has one foot across the border.

(not sure why, I just do)

Probably just my stereotyping based on him saying he needed an 4wheel drive car. Maybe teh answer is all of the above.

That is even more funny, because it was the discussion about the car that helped make my impression!

Well I am guilty of making wild derivative hypotheses.

Not bad at all. Less yuppie, more early 20s and I'm an American so any move south wouldn't be an issue.

Live in the city, but during a bad snow storm that doesn't matter.

what a weird topic idea....*reads thread* ah, i see we covered most of the 'famous' people already...I will chime in and say i always pictured Eran looking like his Avatar..

I'm definitely in on this one.

I picture JollyRoger as a playboy lawyer sort. The one who makes the big bucks and works hard but also plays hard and gets all the ladies with his ready wit.

RRW I picture crawling the pubs with his fellow working class brethren, formulating the next beer hall putsch to take place in Ireland.

VRWC I picture like many people here in my own home town. Stars and Bars bumper sticker, rifle mounted in the truck, the truck itself being a giant Ford F-150. But, unlike lots of people in my own hometown, is also pretty smart.

Phlegmak I see as a kind of wistful misanthropic hipster, chainsmoking in some NYC coffeeshop.

More to come later! This thread is awesome.
