How do you break a WoW addiction?

Pfft, It would drive me crazy to not be in contact and dating women :run:.

I've been crazy for a while anyways.

All you have to do is determine whether or not what you miss playing WoW is more important to you. Try limiting your play time a few minutes every day until you've gotten it down to a reasonable time. That's what I did back inn middle school with games. I played five minutes less every day until I was playing very little.

I think I have the best solution.

1) Get a girlfriend.
2) Make sure that she does play WoW.
3) Play some WoW with her.
4) Get in some gaming squabble with her.
5) Break up with her.
6) Become so mad at her that you don't ever play WoW ever again!

:goodjob:

My quest to get me a girlfriend is what got me started playing wow in the first place. Then when i started i was already hooked and found out she had a boyfriend.

And? Aren't you mad? Aren't you gonna quit because of that??

Bad idea, thats what got him addicted in the first place .

I seem to be having the opposite problem. :( And I like WoW!

No because im addicted silly. Thats why im trying to quit.

Make your WoW 'life' a living hell. Try to kill your self, use the worst weapons, etc until you stop caring.

Having played WoW for a long time and having left the game twice, I say dont listen to anyone here. WoW is a very fun game. I say embrace your desire to play it and do it until you get your fill.

What caused me to leave the game? I just dont have the patience to deal with guild membership required to play the high-end content. I pretty much played to check out the quests and the game content involved. To me, it was like reading a book.....a really, really long book. But I simply hating waiting around for hours in a 20/40 man group inching through an instance so that I merely get a chance (a roll) at some loot that 'might' drop that I can use.

So, enjoy it until you find it enjoyable no more and then move on. No shame in that.

Hey, you can always sell the game online. That way you get rid of addiction and get money! Of course you have to sell it cheaper than in stores.

The solution is rather simple.
1) UNINSTALL the game.
2) Break, or give away your cd, and account.
3) Find a NEW hobby to consume free time. And that doesnt mean, go dl a new MMO. Since, you'll just end up addicted to that too. Read, play sports, get a job, hang out with buddies. There are alot of options out there.

And people, seriously, if your looking for a girlfriend, you DONT look on a videogame...=x

Dammit Xanikk, you started playing WoW to try and get a girl. That's must be the most ineffective thing you could do to get a gf. I told you it was a bad plan. But did you listen? Noooooooo.

I thought you knew what happened. I started playing BECAUSE of a girl, not to try to get a girl.

Replace one addiction with another. Gourmet cooking is probably the safest one, though marathon running might be your thing too.

Otherwise time yourself and play progressively less and less each day. Pick up a completely different hobby.
