How is your EU3 Game going?

Now, this is funny, negative Stability costs:

I started a new game because Burgundy was boring. On hard difficulty and with random lucky nations this time. But I did reload twice so not too hard after all...

Started a new game with Athens, my goal is to reunite Greece and then become a colonial power in Asia. I quickly took over Epirus, but Aragon managed to take over the other province, I then went to war with Byzantium (crippled by a war with the Ottomans) and took over Morea and Kozani, my goal now is to take out Achea and Macedonia, I've made an alliance with Castile so I'll try to take over the Aragon province.

I'm going to that when I conquer all of Greece, but I think the Ottomans or Hungary will crush me before I am able to reunite Greece. The main Asian colonies will be Indochina and Malaya, and I should also conquer Constantinople and make it my capital.

That's going to be hard, but I'll try, can you unite Greece (like Italy and the Netherlands) and whats the quickest way to westernize.

Not sure if Greece can be united, at least at some reasonable time in this game, but in order to westernize you have to:

-have a neighbor who is in the western group and at least 20 techs infront of you
-have a ruler with administrative skill of at least 7 (i think it is 7)
-have a stability of 3

Here, an AAR. Quite Epic one.

Very nifty. Although I would've preferred if I'd discovered it after it was complete. I'll have to make a point to keep checking back for updates.

Does it appear as an event or what, sorry about being noobish but I never played with a non-western nation (to the point of westernization).

Did you start your Athens game in 1402?

It should be easy to change to orthodox faith then. All you need are orthodox religious rebels in your country and accept their demands.
There is no decision to form Greece but a decision to restore the Byzantine Empire for the Greek culture. Note that Athens starts with Lombard culture so you have to do a cultural shift first. Alternatively there is a decision to become Romania if you manage to shift to Romanian.
The westernization decision should be in your decision list when you are in the Oriental or Ottoman tech group.

You should send a missionary to your orthodox province with the highest revolt risk and set the missionary maintenance to 0%. This way rebels appearing there should be orthodox zealots.

But the decision to convert to orthodox costs stability and moves your first slider two steps towards decentralization. Orthodox countries get only 0.5 colonists per year too instead of 1, so this would not be the best decision to make for an aspiring colonial power.

1489. I'm in infamy watch mode right now and simply keeping the HRE down by busting him for money and making him release nations every few years.

You are wasting an advisor slot with a Grand Marshal although a papacy has no legitimacy. That is just wrong.

Doesn't Germany need to be Protestant and after the Treaty of Westphalia?
