How is your EU3 Game going?

That's either the worst EU3 map I've ever seen or the best.

...or both.

That Austria needs annexing. Or inheriting :p
Anyways, I think I might as well *finally* share my game with y'all :D
Spoiler Bits and pieces :

The random South African province was for a free Colonist. And the one in India is for the East Indian Trade Company decision :p

The world 1601 AD, Italy. Get ready to see Colonial and European Superpower Italy. And a Big Bleu Blob. And Castile not forming Spain despite being 2 wars or 1 war and a diplo-annex away. And a massive Persia. And Japan in the ******* Middle East. Yes. This world is totally messed up
Spoiler :

Just get DW already...you're losing a lot of fun whiout it (Like, MEIOU got a new version not long ago, and there is D&T, DAO and miscmods as well)

I want to finish my game first! :p

:rotfl: That is fantastic! Must've been a nightmare whenever a bunch of civs declared war. Thanks for sharing, I was just about to Google it.

Renaming countries in files in my main install folder. And, since so many people do Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantine games, I thought it would be appropriate to do Western Rome for a change. Though the scary French plus cheap Holy War conquests persuaded me to expand eastwards - but Rome itself also expanded eastwards in the B.C.s.

I hope that eventually Byzantium breaks free of France, but I'm not sure how it's going to happen without me fighting France. So far, Byzantium really likes me, but I wasn't going to claim their throne when France of all countries had a competing claim.

Nice Italian game. A superpower the world over. Just don't do what I did the time I did that, and get so power-hungry that you accrue hundreds of infamy, and have to release a 48-province vassal to burn it off.

Which reminds me, does anyone know how the Oirat Horde could accrue, say, 490 Infamy? They did in one of my other games. Do hordes accrue monstrous amounts of infamy in the 1700s, or did they just get uber-unlucky and find a bug? And they aren't even powerful.

I think the thing is that your holdings are predominantly in the east.

Burning colonies gives infamy depending on the colony's size I think. It can rapidly increase your infamy.

I believe they did something toward fixing it in one of the 5.2 betas.

Thanks :D And I changed to a Noble Republic to prevent this- When I am at war, I usually have a good military leader; when I am not, I'm a Diplo leader and I control the Pope. This gives me either a great general, or losing about 1 rep/year, which helps a lot. Along with various Call to Arms and the like, in which I take a few provinces and vassalize the enemy. And the Noble Republic allows me to get Royal Marriages :D

I prefer my 9/9/9 Frederick the Great in my DAO Prussia :p
all-round good, was sad when he died, he was awesome.

A 9/9/9 leader? I get one of those every 50 years for 50 years when I'm rocking Administrative Republic or Constitutional Republic!

They make my colonial management and overseas expansions so damn easy! :D

Don't be so exaggerated, at least speak the truth ;)
Only advantage republics get in stats is that usually you'll get at least a 5 on the kind of leader you choose on the elections, it has nothing to do with having high skills.

So no, they don't live longer nor will come every 50 years, and it has absolutely nothing to do with you being a republic.

Actually, Monarchs CAN live LONGER than presidents, assuming your monarch comes to the throne aged 15 or some young age, idk if the game even registers the "age" of the presidents.

You know what would really be an interesting mod for EU3? A space galaxy themed mod with little regions of the galaxy being provinces and the ocean being the emptiness between galaxies and the core being TPI.

Does the monarch death code take into account ages, so older monarchs are more likely to die? I figured it would do something with MTTH and each decade of rule, but I haven't found the code explained anywhere.

The other advantage of republics is you are guaranteed able to replace a crummy leader in the next election. Sometimes, you get stuck with a regency for a decade and then a crappy monarch for another decade until he dies in battle (and I make sure the bad kings lead from the very front of tiny forlorn-hope detachments).

If you get a bad president, you can reroll in 4 years; with a Monarchy you can be stuck with it for decades. Or he can die immediately and you get a 15 year regency council.

And you can just elect them till they die of old age, I've had great presidents like 8/9/8 for some 80 years and his successor being a 7/7/8.

If you focus more on the rest of the world and not within your religious group, there's no reason to go Monarchy, the only significant advantage I can think of are PUs and inheritances (and what a crazy advantage), but if you neglect this for whatever reason, Republics are consistently better.

Yes, IIRC you can even change it. (about the death possibility and age)

About republics, for some reason i have problems killing my president in a battle (noble republic terms last 8 years), compared to when i play monarchies, where most of my rulers are very good or at least average, and i don't have many problems with bad rulers.

A regency can be better than the monarch tough, only downside is that it limits your diplomatic actions, but in ruling the nation? It isn't that big of a obstacle unless your heir is very, very awesome and/or the regency sucks

Yes, kings also last until they die of old age tough, and they usually last more than presidents (from my experience anyway)

What? You can get as many good rulers as a republic, have legitimacy bonuses, royal marriages...not to mention that governments like empire get an universal CB (Empire Holy war -> Ab. Monarchy Imperialism...)

But if you ask me, the absolute best government at managing your nation is Const. Monarchy, it gets very good bonuses and a modifier unique to it (Division of Powers IIRC)
combined with legitimacy bonuses...trust me, it's a great government, better than any other when you take everything into consideration. Its only drawback compared to others like Absolute Monarchy is the sliders limitation and no imperialism CB (unless i'm badly mistaken here, quite some time since i last played Const. Monarchy because i usually just remain Absolute)

EDIT : Of course, that's not considering revolutionary governments...
