Please share interesting banana information! Potassium is BORING (in the context of bananas).
 
A banana equivalent dose (BED) is an informal expression of ionizing radiation exposure, intended as a general educational example to indicate the potential dose due to naturally occurring radioactive isotopes by eating one average-sized banana. One BED is often taken as 0.1 µSv, however, in practice this dose is not cumulative, as the principal radioactive component is excreted to maintain metabolic equilibrium. The BED is only an indicative concept meant to show the existence of very low levels of natural radioactivity within a natural food and is not a formally adopted dose quantity.

For example, the radiation exposure from consuming a banana is approximately 1% of the average daily exposure to radiation, which is 100 banana equivalent doses (BED). The maximum permitted radiation leakage for a nuclear power plant is equivalent to 2,500 BED (250 μSv), while a chest CT scan delivers 70,000 BED (7 mSv). A lethal dose of radiation is approximately 35,000,000 BED (3500 mSv). A person living 10 miles from the Three Mile Island nuclear reactor received 700 BED of exposure to radiation.

I EAT APPROXIMATELY 3-4 BANANAS PER WEEK, MOSTLY FOR LUNCH ALTHOUGH SOMETIMES I EAT THEM FOR BREAKFAST WITH A CUP OF GREEK YOGURT BECAUSE IT'S HEALTHY AND DELICIOUS BUT NOT BANANA-FLAVORED YOGURT BECAUSE THE ARTIFICIAL BANANA FLAVOR IS WEIRD AND KINDA VOMIT-INDUCING.

The distinctive smell and flavor of bananas is caused by their isoamyl acetate content. Honey bees use the same chemical as a pheromone. A bee releases it when she stings, in order to signal to other bees that there is a threat that they too should attack in order to protect the hive. Because of this coincidence, banana peels can be used to antagonize bees and trick them into attacking targets they would otherwise leave alone.

This sounds more like antagonizing the target. I foresee banana peels stuck in odd pockets of backpacks in the near future!
 
Nearly none, but I put them in smoothies when I have smoothies. I think of them as a candy, not a nutrient.
 
I eat probably about two or three bananas a week on average.

I also like to play with a fairly cheap Geiger counter I got several months ago. It's nearly impossible to detect the K-40 in a banana with it. There's just not enough to be detectable over background. Potassium chloride in a Ziploc bag is pretty easy to detect, but it pales in comparison to the 2 g piece of depleted uranium I got on ebay. :nuke:

I also got a few little chunks of potassium metal, which is fun. It is about as soft as Silly Putty, cuts with a knife, and burns with a pretty purple flame for a few seconds before exploding if you put it in water. :D

They count just as much if you mash them outside your face as they do if you mash them inside your face!
 
They count if you swallow them. Where they're mashed beforehand is not super important.
 
I don't regularly eat bananas. Sometimes I eat five bananas per week, but I haven't eaten a single banana all summer.
 
I loathe bananas. The smell puts me off them.
I'm fine with banana bread and bits of banana in smoothies (just won't eat the banana bits), but I refuse to eat them raw.
