If we are all half banana isn't it almost like cannibalism to eat them? :confused:

Safe to say that every bit of DNA that has anything to do with the construction and operation of your digestive system comes from the half of your DNA that is NOT held in common with the banana, so no, it wouldn't be cannibalism.

It's not a problem as long as I don't eat uncooked bananas. Cooked plantains and things like banana muffins or bread don't seem to effect me for some reason. I know another person with a banana allergy and it's the same for her. If I eat even half a raw banana, I'll become quite sick to my stomach within 15-30 minutes and start vomiting profusely.

The biggest drawback is when making smoothies. So no, it's not a real problem.

They're super cheap, so it's become like the only fruit I buy anymore. So once a day.

God, I'm so sick of bananas.

Not enough. I'm the only one in the apartment who eats them so I don't grab them that often.

I probably average one every 3 days. I used to eat one every day, but have dropped off recently. Not sure why. I should really go back to eating more fruit and veg...

Right now I'm not allowed to eat bananas due to the potassium in them, but when I could I would eat them when I felt like it, which wasn't often, but enough for more than one a month. There is no option on the list for me.

I used to love bananas. Especially sliced up and covered in cream and sugar. But about 10 years ago, for some reason, I completely went off them and can't bring myself to eat them at all.

Poll states "Pick the correctest average for you!" There is no option on the list for "I don't know how to average", but your average is there! GOOD LUCK!

I blend them into smoothies, to add volume and sugar.

I think I average a banana a day. Some days I eat maybe three bananas, sometimes only two; while mostly I eat one banana a day, quite often I don't eat any bananas at all. Bananas vary quite a bit in size as well. And ripeness.

I've also had a phase of enjoying watching a woman eat a banana. But I think I'm over it now.

Ten fun facts about bananas:

1. High in potassium (you knew this, and it's very boring);
2. Cultivated bananas don't have any seeds in them (I mentioned this on CFC only two days ago, I think);
3. Bananas are very cheap (you also knew this, if you've been paying attention to this thread. But it's a bit of mystery why they are so cheap. I think it may have something to do with Banana Republics, but I'd have to go and look it up. Anyway, I always put my banana skins on the compost heap, and I'm a bit worried about the transfer of valuable vegetable matter from the Carribean to Northern Europe. I mean, this kind of lop-sided trade in humus can't be a good thing, now can it?);
4. Ladies eating bananas can be sexy (didn't I mention this already?);
5. I've forgotten what #5 is (bear with me a minute, while I think);
6. Nope, it's gone.
7. Ah, I've remembered! You can actually make a fabric from banana skins. If you've ever paid attention when peeling one, you'll have noticed that they can form a thread. And you can take this thread and make textile. It's not a lot of good though. A bit too slimy, they say.
8. You can't get high from smoking dried banana skin;
9. Bananas emit a chemical that can speed up the ripening of other fruit;
10. Some fairly well-known comedian recently slipped on a banana skin and fell over. He was on the radio complaining that this archetypal comedic event went unwitnessed by anyone but himself.
