I think I average a banana a day. Some days I eat maybe three bananas, sometimes only two; while mostly I eat one banana a day, quite often I don't eat any bananas at all. Bananas vary quite a bit in size as well. And ripeness.
I've also had a phase of enjoying watching a woman eat a banana. But I think I'm over it now.
Ten fun facts about bananas:
1. High in potassium (you knew this, and it's very boring);
2. Cultivated bananas don't have any seeds in them (I mentioned this on CFC only two days ago, I think);
3. Bananas are very cheap (you also knew this, if you've been paying attention to this thread. But it's a bit of mystery why they are so cheap. I think it may have something to do with Banana Republics, but I'd have to go and look it up. Anyway, I always put my banana skins on the compost heap, and I'm a bit worried about the transfer of valuable vegetable matter from the Carribean to Northern Europe. I mean, this kind of lop-sided trade in humus can't be a good thing, now can it?);
4. Ladies eating bananas can be sexy (didn't I mention this already?);
5. I've forgotten what #5 is (bear with me a minute, while I think);
6. Nope, it's gone.
7. Ah, I've remembered! You can actually make a fabric from banana skins. If you've ever paid attention when peeling one, you'll have noticed that they can form a thread. And you can take this thread and make textile. It's not a lot of good though. A bit too slimy, they say.
8. You can't get high from smoking dried banana skin;
9. Bananas emit a chemical that can speed up the ripening of other fruit;
10. Some fairly well-known comedian recently slipped on a banana skin and fell over. He was on the radio complaining that this archetypal comedic event went unwitnessed by anyone but himself.
