How many national anthems do you know?

I think I know America's.

My wife only knows O Canada in French.

I only know The Start Spangled Banner, but I know all 4 verses. I know some small parts of several others, but by no means the entire commonly sung parts.

isnt the eu hymn just the instrumental part of ode an die freude?

guess it's not so that the whole of the european union has a german hymn...

I don't know for sure, I thought it contained at least part of the lyrics too, I know the lyrics anyway so I know it either way. :)

Star Spangled Banner. I know about two sentences.

Words: just God Save the Queen and a bit of the Deutschlandlied.

Melodies: the above two plus France, USA and Turkmenistan anthems.

I know...

Deutshland! Deutshland! Uber Alles!
Uber alles in der welt!
...
Von der Mass dis, und the Memel
Von der Etsch dis und the belt!
...
Deutsh Frauen Deutsh Trauen
Deutsh Wien and Deutsh Sang!

And

Aux arms! Citayons!
Formez, battalions!
Marchez! Marchez!
Qua? Sang Impur!

And

...
Send her victorious!
Happy and Glorious!
Long to reign over us!
God save the queen!

Oh lord thy gives in store?
Scatter her enemies!
And make them fall....
Confound their politics
Scatter their navish tricks...

And

Qi La! Qi La!
....
Zhong Guo Ming Zhu!...

And lastly

Mariki tara, ya Singapura sa
Masa muju, bahagia
Cita Cita, Cita ya Bugia
Bersaya Singapura

Thats all

I know the American, French (although my pronunciation would probably inspire a French person "to arms"), UK, and German anthems. I also know the lyrics to "Ode to Joy", if that counts. I also know various versions of the Internationale, but I don't know of any country that uses it.

I should say "I know and can sing" the American, UK, and German anthems (as well as "An die Freude" and "The Internationale"). I can sort of sing the French anthem, but I don't know all of the words and my pronunciation is bound to be miserable -- even though I have vocal recordings of it.

I can probably rough my way through the words to O Canada still.

As far as recognizing melodies, USA, UK and maybe Russia.

Obviously I know Advance Australia Fair including most of the second, uncommon verse.

I can sing about half of La Marsellaise, I get lost after le entandard sanglant until AUX ARMES CITOYENS .

I could probably, at a stretch, recall maybe half the American anthem, despite the fact that it's an unsingable song of explosions and defeat.

Spain's national anthem has no words, I can sing the tune comfortably, and I also know the tune of the Republican Himno de Riego.

I know...

Deutshland! Deutshland! Uber Alles!
Uber alles in der welt!
...
Von der Mass dis, und the Memel
Von der Etsch dis und the belt!

...
Deutsh Frauen Deutsh Trauen
Deutsh Wien and Deutsh Sang!

it's just that the bolded part isnt part of the german antional anthem.
(no, not even with right grammar and spelling. ;) )

It ought to be.

:p

I know the melodies of the American, French and UK anthems. I think I could probably recognize the Israeli melody if it was played for me.

I don't know the words to any anthems though, not even my own.
