The world's most pierced woman has added more bling to her body, reaching a record 6005 piercings.

Elaine Davidson — who was born in Brazil but lives in Edinburgh, Scotland — first entered the Guinness World Record in 2000 with 462 piercings.

Also a nurse, Miss Davidson is no stranger to needles but said she actually suffers for her art.

"I don't enjoy getting pierced, but to break the record you have to get to a high level," she said.

"I wanted to break the record."

I don't think I could meet that chick in person and not be overcome by the urge to leave large powerful magnets in her general vicinity. What the hell, might as well toss a handful of fridge magnets her way too.

So last night, I pierced my lip.. this is my 6th piercing, but the first I hve done myself.

Anyone else with piercings, self done or otherwise?

Ew. No. Especially because I'm male. And a wimp. How could you pierce you're lip? Wouldn't it just bleed all over you? The whole thought is just disgusting.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. your standards are not universal, have never been. while it is fun to point the finger at different people it doesn't really get anybody anywhere. why not just shrug and mind your own beeswax? :> how is this even an issue in the 21st century? None for me, I must be one of the few women not to have pierced ears. My Mum used to get me to put her ear rings in for her when I was a child and the feeling of the way a piercing heals with what feels like a little tube through the body gives me the creeps. I've never wanted to get even my ears done as a result.
