How in the world is that a test of genius? If anything, it is only a test of your familiarity with common (or not so common) phrases.
Seconded. I mean some of them are fairly simple, that you would expect anyone to know, (The date ones, for example) but others are just like phrases, and if you don't know them then you're screwed, because it's almost impossible to just guess them. I mean come on, number 33 especially was simply inane.

Anyway, I got bored after getting 10, the test wasn't very interesting. According to them, I am "somewhat intelligent". :mischief:

It does not really seem a proper mensa test to me. They usually prioritize to make their tests deal only with logic, insofar as this is possible, and not be reliant on inherent knowledge of specific phrases.
This test is much more accurate, in my opinion. It has a time limit, and the concept is as simple as picking the missing picture for a given pattern:

EDIT: The test is in danish, but it's pretty irrelevant since its visual only. Just be aware that it tells you to press the "send" button when you're done, and then it displays your IQ.

A 15 minute Internet test? Come on, if you really want to measure your intelligence for some reason go do a real test :p .
I suggest a course on organic chemistry.

Oh please, you mean there is still people taking on-line IQ tests seriously ?

Well, as for me, I'm intelligent enough not to brag about my supposed smartness based on some ridiculous online IQ testing

26.

Did it for fun; obviously not arguing its legitimacy. Taliesin, my miss list was nearly identical to yours, but I'd also missed 5 T on a F and 8 T on an O, and gotten 13 L in a B D and 3 B M. Blech; both of those extras I'd missed of course seem obvious now in hindsight. I must cry cultural bias on the rugby, football, and cricket questions though :mischief:. I mean seriously, what exactly is an 'over' anyway? (Rhetorical - don't care ;) .)

erm, that isnt hard, its just remebering phrases.. i got bored though

I got 13 of them, then decided to look at the answers. There were 2 or 3 that I would never have guessed.

I prefer the one on the MENSA website though (Mensa Workout).:D
Good point. (A much more interesting test, too.)
"Your score was 28 out of 30. That is an excellent score, you would have a very strong chance of passing the Mensa test and joining Mensa."
Sweet. (Two word scrambles killed me.)

there was a button to look at the answers?
Go to 'FAQ', at the bottom, and there's a link in the last answer.

Spoken like a true yank.
I'd meant my condescension (jokingly) towards sports in general, not just non-American sports (which just coincidentally happened to be the only sports-related phrases I'd noticed). I didn't mean any offense towards rugby, cricket et al specifically - culturally, I probably should've gotten the football one, but I just don't follow sports much. I was mostly just attempting to echo Masquerouge's point about the cultural bias while mocking my own lack of sporting knowledge. No offense meant.
