If the funding to military is indeed cut, I hope that money will go to fixing education first and foremost, heck, spend a couple hundred millions on fixing the public school cafeteria food and I guarantee you, America's obesity rate will drop and obesity-related problems will also decline resulting in a healthier America overall.

Everyone should strive for this goal, if that means profiting off death then so be it.

You would probably be surprised how many potentially huge wars are kept in check by American ability and willingness to project power - Taiwan and China are held apart by the US' lack of a clear position, and a serious war in the middle east has probably been prevented by US backing of Israel.

As for Israel and the Middle East, there are quite a few other countries that back it. And IIRC, Israel also has nuclear weapons.

On the side: no, we don't need to double military spending. The U.S. could already kick any ass on this planet without breaking a sweat. And, I'm undecided on throwing more money at education.

The soloution is the nationalization of the military-industrial complex. No one should ever profit off weaponry, war and death.

But then the government would profit from it.

The thing you don't realize is that most of those who profit from weapons, war, and death are already violating law and morality wholesale. They simply don't care. The only way to deal with that kind of people is to kill them first.

LMAO the US was prepared to accept heavy casualties and prolong escaltion in Vietnam while Nixion sought a face saving way of withdrawel. Of couse Nixion thought wrongly he could succesfuly win the war.

Of course on the flip side we had Clinton with hes buildup and then withdrawel from Somalia or Reagon and hes pulling out of Beruit.

Maybe you didn't get the point of my whole post about Obama knowing what he knows. It's this: that your current opinion is the result of knowing next to nothing about the real world. If you became President (I'd say "God forbid" at this point, but I'm an atheist), you would change your tune real fast. Obama did. As have most other Presidents.
