I have to say, one of my favorite things about Civ II and IV was the plurality of leaderheads. That's something they should keep in mind for an expansion (in addition to a religion rework), but i digress...

If you had the opportunity to add a leader for each civ, which would they be? I would speculate more on what I think the special abilities would be, but i dont know much about the mechanics of them. My own:

America:
FDR
FDR should receive a bonus with industrialization

Arabia:
Ali

Aztec:
Cuauhtemoc

China:
Mao
Mao should receive a bonus to guerilla war

England:
Churchill

Greece:
Pericles!

India:
Asoka

Japan:
Meiji

Persia:
Khomeini

Rome:
Marcus Aurelius

Russia:
Lenin
Perhaps Lenin could get some kind of bonus on drafting, or an industrial bonus

England: Henry VIII
Rome: Mario, Sulla, Pompey... somebody from the republican era.
USA: Theodore Roosevelt
France: Maximilian Robespierre, or Richelieu could be ok...

Louis the 14th for France would be fantastic (XIV, or Le Roi Soleil, or the sun king). Lots of options to choose from for his bonuses among centralized power, military strength, and extended reign of power.

Would also love to see Bill Clinton for USA, although I feel that's only slightly more likely than Hitler coming in an expansion.

Bill Clinton would rock, but I think there's the "too soon" element. For instance, I think Castro with Cuba would be fun, but considering the man is still alive, I suppose it might be a little weird to have them as a playable leaderhead. But recent history works, Nixon would be awesome too.

I'd like to see Alfred the Great for England. Where's the pre-conquest love?

America - Theodore Roosevelt - Power: Bully! +1 Health, Commerce and Happiness in all cities
China - Qin Shi Huang Ti - Power: Ancient Chinese Secret +25% Research Until End of Renaissance
Egypt - Anwar Sadat - Power: Infitah +1 trade routes in all cities
England - Churchill - Power: Stiff Upper Lip -25% War Weariness
France - Louis XIV - Power: Sun King +1 Happiness in all cities, +1 Gold from all Cities
Germany - Charlemagne - Power: Frankish Might No Revolt in recently conquered cities
Greece - Pericles - Power: Athenian Democracy No Maintenance Costs from Distance to Capital
India - Ashoka - Power: Edicts of Ashoka +1 Health and Happiness in all cities
Japan - Meiji - Power: Meiji Restoration +25% Hammers
Rome - Trajan - Power: Trajan's Rome +25% faster growth of culture, +5% Hammers
Russia - Lenin - Power: Soviet Republics No intra-national trade, but all tiles produce 1 extra food and hammers, but there is also 1 extra unhappiness in all cities

For once, I would like to see the leader for America be little more interesting then the mainstays...Andrew Jackson or Teddy Roosevelt would be fun leaders to play as.

Sorry to break this to you, but Mao is worse than Hitler, he killed millions more. Clinton was a terrible president that cheated on his wife and stuck his head in the sand. FDR does not deserve to be a civ leader anymore. Had he not died in office, he would have been in office for longer, until he became a dictator.

Lincoln is good for Civ

Clinton was not a terrible president. He ended his second term with a federal surplus.
FDR would most certainly not have become a dictator, and he is one of America's greatest presidents, because he lead us through and out of the Great Depression, and, based on what I know of what he wanted to implement, had he not died, we might be far better off today.

Persia:
Khomeini

That would be like Victor Emmanuel or Mussolini being a Roman leader

Now my own list:

America: someone who would be aggressive/expansionist like Polk or Jackson
England: Edward I Longshanks
France: Louis XIV
Germany: Frederick I Barbarossa (with a special ability that causes units to suffer heavy loses from drowning whenever a river is crossed)
Greece: Pericles
Persia: Cyrus
Rome: Either Constantine or one of the five good emperors
Russia: Lenin or Peter

America: Andrew Jackson. Where's the Jacksonian love? :(

Arabia: Umar. Taking over Sassanid Persia and two-thirds of Eastern Rome can't be wrong! :goodjob:

Aztecs: Itzcoatl. The Aztec Triple Alliance wouldn't have been possible without him!

China: Taizong. I've heard that he's present in every Chinese copy of Civ III and Civ IV, but I'd like to see him in America for once! ;)

Egypt: Thutmose III or Menes. I'd like to see these two join Civ sometime soon! :please:

England: Alfred the Great or William the Conqueror. MEDIEVAL ENGLAND FTW!!!

France: Philip IV, the Fair. This guy had some interesting stuff going on in his life!

Germany: Otto I. Can't really think of anyone else besides good ol' toothbrush.

Greece: Pericles. NEED MOAR PERICLES!!! :mwaha:

India: Chandragupta Maurya. Asoka shouldn't be the only one getting credit for the Mauryan Dynasty! :p

Iroquois: Joseph Brant (aka Thayendanegea). Hiawatha, Deganawida, Cornplanter, and Joseph Brant are the only prominent Iroquois leaders that come to mind.

Japan: Meiji. You can't resist his awesome facial hair! :king:

Ottoman: Osman I. Can't really think of any others besides Mehmed.

Persia: Ardashir I. He overthrew the Parthians and brought Persia back to its former glory! :D

Rome: I don't really care. There's way too many Roman Emperors to even remember who did what!

Russia: Ivan III, the Great. He's better than Ivan IV, at least!

Siam: Phra Bat Somdet Phra Poramintharamaha Chulalongkorn Phra Chunla Chom Klao Chao Yu Hua Chulalongkorn. Modernized the empire, like Meiji; freed the slaves, like Lincoln.

Songhai: Sonni Ali. Because of him, Songhai expanded until it became larger than the former Mali empire!

Babylon: Nabopolassar. Destroying the entire Assyrian empire counts for something, right? :mischief:

Cracked reader, by any chance? My head says FDR for America, but my heart has to agree with Teddy Roosevelt.

Others:

Russia: Peter the Great
Babylon: Hammurapi (yes, I go with the less well known spelling)
China: Mao Zedong

And if the Zulu were in I'd love to see Afrika Bambaataa as the leader. To the one person who gets that reference: hi there!

Sorry to break this to you, but Mao is worse than Hitler, he killed millions more.
Hitler was far worse for his country; he left Germany divided, occupied, and destroyed by war. Whereas Mao was a great nation builder for China.
Clinton was a terrible president that cheated on his wife and stuck his head in the sand.
I (and most humans) don't care if Clinton cheated on his wife every single night. His economic policies were great. The national debt was reduced, the government budget was in surplus, the real (after inflation) income of the middle class was expanding. If we had 10 more years of Clintonesque policies from 2000-2010 America would be in much better shape.
FDR does not deserve to be a civ leader anymore. Had he not died in office, he would have been in office for longer, until he became a dictator.
That's nothing but totally baseless speculation. The fact is, while FDR was in office he was a wonderfully effective and successful leader, economically, militarily, and socially.

FDR should be the second American leader, in fact he should be the first, IMO.

I also wouldn't mind Alfred for England.

I figure you could get some good lines with Reagan for the US (not gonna happen though).

But I feel like Catherine is a bit overused in Civ games. Lenin would be great and you could put in some nice effects for any civ he leads.

TBH Im tired of Moctezuma and the way he is portrayed, I'd rather see them go with Itzcoatl he pretty much layed the foundation for the Aztec Empire.

America: Teddy Roosevelt - bonus to wonder building (Panama Canal, National Parks); OR Commerce bonus (Trust-busting financial reforms); OR diplomacy bonus (Peace Prize - negotiating peace between Russia & Japan); then there's the Great White Fleet. . .
