Would you all say the same things about a teacher that went on a long rant about atheism or the war in Iraq?

About atheism, yes. As a history teacher, I would find it appropriate to discuss the War in Iraq...and I mean discuss. If he was ranting either way it would be inappropriate.

If I was justifying his actions, there would not have been a question.

It was just a typical troll otherwise he would not have assumed that anyone who disagrees with this teacher is an atheist and as a consequence an opponent of the Iraq war.

Read the question again and answer the following:

[1.] When did I say that disagreeing with the teacher meant being an atheist?
[2.] When did I say that atheists are against the war in Iraq?

Yep a teacher is there to teach history or politics or religious education not to explain his world view to the class, it's beyond the remit of his post.

I am referring that it is not the place of mortal man to decide who goes to heaven or hell. That decision is left only up to God himself. Sorry if I was not clear on this.
