With the establishment of a new Italian state right on the borders of the Illuminating Light Empire, people saw a need to secure the borders of The Empire. It was decided that the fastest way to do this would be to forcibly convert the nearby areas. A move was made to correct the slightly misguided views in the Balkan people on the borders of the Empire, but more effort was required in the formly Islamic lands in Eastern Anatolia and Syria. Land borders were established with Russia and the Templar state. Due to conflicting worldviews, the border in the Holy Land was quickly closed off to prevent contact with Latins, though the Russian border was less tense. Offers for trade were made to Russia.

The shock of the Greeks expanding their influence into Syria has shocked the Assassins over the entire world. It is known to them that, while not nessercairly Templars, they follow a weird cult unlike any other. While most people worship the mavolent beings known as the First Civilizaton, whether it was Vishnu or Yahweh, that enslaved humanity long ago, these beings worshipped... light.

Simple light. It was weird to not just them, but the world as a whole. But now they wished to expand to Syria. The problem with this was clear to the Order: Masyaf is located in that nation. As the historical stronghold of the Assassins, it not only holds cultural signifigance to them but practical as well. For it is well known that secrets not meant for the common person is held in there. Masyaf can not fall, not for any reason. Attempts to reclaim Masyaf after its abandonment were fruitless in history past. Famed Mentor Ezio attempted this during the Reinnisance while underground, but to no avail. As the Order restablished, a more serious attempt can be given.

To make his point clear, Dominico Notoriano wrote a letter directed towards the leader of the nation. Penned in Greek, Italian, and Arabic, its laconic message is of typical Assassin fashion. It was attached to an eagle's feather, the traditional Order for actual assassination.

Egypt has been a bit startled at the rise of a new state right along our borders. As a precaution, the Egyptian president has ordered all active military persons to block the borders of the new country of the Somli Pirates. While this does not mean war, the Egyptian government is very worried, yet very interested in the development of the Somalian country as well as the behavior of its government and current administration. Egypt is also interested in any possible expansion that the Somalian government might take.
