Are you sure? Maybe they were taxidermized by Chuck Testa.

I though it was some sort of rather humorous witticism but then I realized that I had just misread it, I was disappointed...

IC: Sarajevo's top scientist have found what could be a feasible way of generating power using pickled fish as an energy source. Although it is only in the experimental stages we look forward to seeing further benefits for the world emerging from this.
Thus we are sharing our data with ROTFL, DPRBAC, Those sea people who are also in Madagascar, Kiev and Scotland

The Federal Republic of the Coastal Nations thanks the Socialist Republic of Sarajevo for their sharing of research. Hopefully, this Gesture of Friendship will help repair the rift between our peoples.

With the collapse of the Caliphate in the east, The Pharaoh saw a new opportunity. Without warning, he marched his armies into the cities of Mecca and Medina and declared himself the new Caliph of Islam. The new sect of Islam, Pharaoh-ites, or فرعون in Arabic, was already popular across Egypt and other parts of North Africa. The main difference, of course, was that it incorporated elements of ancient Egyptian Mythology and Islam with Allah and Re being the same being. The Pharaoh himself was believed to be the son of Allah, a believe other Muslims found blaphemous. Regardless, in the post-apocalyptic world, The Pharaoh had created one of the largest Islamic sects in the world. And now he controlled the heart of Islam to cement his grasp.

Part of the conquest of Arabia was a result of the Byzantine War. The land in Anatolia was extremely profitable to Egypt and the Pharaoh's economic advisors hoped that more over-seas land could help increase the revenue for the government. The conqured people at first resented the strong government presence, but after some key leaders were "taken care of", and the new religon "encouraged", the regions settled down. The same happened on the west Arabian coast. Seeing rich oil fields to the east, even more of Arabia was annexed. In addition, tighter controls were put on the Hajj, including a new tax to the Great Pharaoh and the worshipping of his image by all who wish to travel to Mecca. The income from Mecca and the oil helped stimulate the economy back on the Nile, the main goal of the Egyptian goverment.

It has always been a main feature of the Comintern's founding premise and to this day remains one of the most crucial concepts; The Continuing Revolutionary Process, by which the word of Socialism is passed on to those in need, those who tire of the status quo and those who wish for a better lot in life. To Sarajevo especially it has been a core concept. During Sarajevo's infancy as a nation its main function was to spread the equality across the Balkans and it was rather successful at it.
During those years Sarajevo also reached out further afield. In Haiti it supported the socialist movement and helped establish it as a member state of Sarajevo's league. Venice was also integrated in this fashion. And so Sarajevo similarly reached out to the peoples of Venezuela and of Vietnam (utter coincidence that 3/4 of them begin with the letter V). But unlike in Haiti these missions were frowned upon by the international community and so, reluctantly, Sarajevo made concessions to let the other nations claim those lands which had been ripe for the sowing of Sarajevo's ideology.
After being rebuked so strongly Sarajevo didn't reach out in a similar manner again... They were all to aware of the Imperialist schemes laid out by nations who thought themselves Sarajevo's betters.

Well, that had all been during Gavrilovich's rule.

Emir Vildić was a different man.

Now the nation had a new leader, one not afraid to stand up for his ideals. Upon his seizure of emergency control he made his first order of the day to find the killers of Gavrilovich, Second to rescue Vedran Smailović (who it is now known perished in an unauthorized rescue attempt by the Chinese government) and Thirdly to expand the message into areas that were currently unclaimed by any nation and support those people their an to organize them into a successful socialist state.
As a final item on his first agenda he also said that Sarajevo should lend its economic support to their allies in Africa and Brazil.

Sarajevo now invites the nations of the world to join Sarajevo in its mourning for Commissioner Smailović. He was a great man and Idealist and we will miss him and his contributions to the world.
Sarajevo also invites delegates from all nations of the world to attend his state funeral.

"Injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere." General Laaneots is a firm subscriber to this sentiment, and while he had no personal interaction with the late Commissioner Smailović, nor did Estonia make any noteworthy contribution to the commission since emerging from isolation, his reputation, nonetheless, lives on. Smailović is remembered as a dedicated champion of human rights and a man of unwavering integrity, and the recent Japanese allegations that he promoted a nationalist agenda should be regarded as an insult to both office and officer.

Needless to say, Estonia will attend.

I guess it's official, then: the UNHRC needs a new High Commissioner. :(

The Zombie President of the Former Chinese Union will be in attendance, and will bring braaaaaaaaaaains as a gift to his widow. Death isn't so bad.

Emperor Hui Yong shall be in attendance.

Although Emperor Nameen cannot himself attend, the Secretary of Foreign Relations shall attend the funeral on behalf of the Empire of Chola.

A representative from New York will attend.

Oh yeah, and can I have all capitalist nations send me a PM or visitor message?

The Crowning of the Emperor

The Imperial Palace

He glanced outside the window, at the crowds below. His assistant smiled, and then trying to reassure Hui, said "Don't worry, this is a day that will live or forever." Hui gave a small chuckle, and then preceded to straighten his clothes, and gave a sigh. "But after the recent hostilities between us and the Republic, will the world want this?" The assistant frowned for a moment, but then went on, "Of course they will, he have already have obtained support from across the world." He finally gave a sigh of relief, those words meant everything. He stood there for a moment, going over the speech he was about to give in his head when the door at the back room opened, and a small elderly man walked in.

They stood face to face for a moment, before bowing in respect to each other. as his head bobbed up, the elder announced, "It is time." Hui glanced one more time out the window, looking at the people he will have to govern. "Go, your people need a proper ruler." He grabbed a glass of water, drinking it down, and laid his papers with the speech written on them on the table, and walked toward the balcony. He paused for a moment, before throwing the doors open, hearing a large applause. The man walked swiftly behind him, and stood at his right on the balcony. "Citizens of the great land of Nanjing, I give you your new emperor!"

The crowd yelled and applauded once again, and after dying down all eyes rested on Hui. After a few second, he addressed the nation,

Speech said:
Citizens of Nanjing, I am here to address of a monumental achievement our great nation achieved. I have always been your emperor yes? But have I been the emperor of China, and made you citizens of China? No, I have not. But today, after much deliberation my advisers and I have decided it is time a new government for all of China be set up. A government, you shall be part of. A government, that will unify this war-torn land.

China has not seen a stable government in decades, due to outside invasion, plague, and internal war. But I promise you that as citizens of the "New China" you shall live in peace and prosperity, and not have to worry about your own life. We shall bring peace, we are the ones to end of the strife. We will establish a new China that will remain glorious for centuries to come. We are China. Citizens, you are no longer a Nanjing city-state citizen, you are now a citizen of Xīn China.

With that, the emperor raised his arms to the sky, as the crowd once more celebrated, celebrating, their new country.

tl;dr version: Emperor gave big speech. Nanjing is now Xīn China.

Where is there a minus sign instead of a dot above that i?

Don't blame me, blame the Chinese language. It means "new".

Hail!

I was beginning to wonder how much longer Nanjing could feasibly call itself a city-state. :p

We will attend the funeral of the fallen Commissioner Smailović. He was a great man who helped keep the rebuilt world from collapse.

A Kievan delegation, including the current President, will attend the funeral of Commissioner Smailović, a great man.

Sarajevo is now guaranteeing the independence of New York.
A deceleration of war against them should now be considered a declaration of war against Sarajevo and possibly the Comintern in its entirety.
