A major new infrastructure project is being planned by the government. Already, there are calculations as to the relevance of each part of the project, cost-benefit analyses, and of course the calculations on how to construct each part of the project. This project consists of a massive series of hydroelectric plants, canals, irrigation projects, water treatment plants, desalination plants, and new ports and harbours, with the principal project being the Don-Volga Canal, which will connect the mighty Volga River and Caspain Sea to the Azov Sea - Which leads to the Mediterranean, and from there, to the great oceans of the world.
Meanwhile, the Volgan Federation has realized that it needs naval defense to make sure it is fully protected against naval attacks, especially with the future Don-Volga canal making it easier to send ships up the Volga from the Mediterranean. I, has been made, based on a ship built before the collapse, although it needs improvement. This ship has a displacement of just 3670 tons, a length of 132 metres, is propelled by two steam turbines, and has a speed of 32 knots. Its armament includes 16 anti-ship missiles, 8 SAMs, 2 twin-barrel 130 mm dual purpose guns, 4 Type 76A dual-37 mm anti-aircraft guns, 2 Type 75 anti-submarine rocket systems, 6 torpedo tubes, depth charges, and 38 naval mines.

Economic Development in Mainland Japan
Japanese companies have started the economic development of Mainland Japan. Making use of cheap Chinese labor and the resources of the newly pacified areas, several companies have begun the construction of huge industrial complexes and factories, as well as Power Stations and airports.
This economic buildup in Mainland Japan will surely lead to the rise of the Japanese economy. The main factor of this is the tens of millions of Chinese cheap labor and the resources of China. As the new offensive against Sun Ce and his regime in East China begins, Japanese companies prepare for new investments. Japanese companies also prepare for investments in Vietnam, as there are many plans for the development of the region. Some analysts, however, say that the results of the economic buildup will take some years to become visible.

The Indo-Persians expand into Kuwait and the Indus Valley.
After succesfully conquering completely the lands once known as Kuwait, the indo-perian kingdom has decided to create the Satrapy of Kuwait. This includes the conquered zone of Iraq. They also expanded into the Indus Valley in order to supply their troops for their soon-to-come march into the arab desert.
Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, as the friday prayer is done, the imam does the following proclamation:

The Persian goverment is alarmed at this reaction and starts increasing it's military spending. There has also been confirmed reports of sabotages by indian terrorists in the newly conquered areas. However, these are minor attacks, so they are still continuing their operations on the middle east.

Challenging Fate
For many people in the world, sitting in this room, flanked with cameras and microphones, sitting here would be a dream come true. For Jeannette Hiver, it was simply another Tuesday morning. With a television-worthy smile, she glanced around the room, staring at the largely quiet audience. Although talking was allowed during commercial breaks, Jeannette in her contract demanded a rule for silence before the first camera being switched on. This was to simply allow the anchor to collect her thoughts before the show started. Behind the audience, Hiver watched the movement of the filming crew. Even further behind them were multiple signs, adjourned with a stylized French flag and "Good Morning France". More text described how the show could only be seen on Channel 5 at 7:00, but that did not matter to Hiver. Who needed to watch the highest rated morning talk show on France when you hosted it yourself?
The anchor, while brushing her skirt of her grey suit, turned to her left. Dressed in a simple black dress, the brown-haired woman was armed with a book. Although Jeannette had seen the book so many times previously, she looked at it one last time. On a simple blue background, orange text read, "The Folly of Men: History and the Sexes". Below that, smaller orange text declared that the author was Annette Renard, the exact woman that was holding the book.
"You ready to go?," Jeannette asked inquisitively, "We should be on soon."
Renard looked up to her counterpart. "As ready as I ever will be," she responded confidently.
Hiver nodded back, and brushed some of her blonde hair behind her. After so many of her recent guests consumed by stage fright on the show, it was finally good to hear that her guest had some backbone. Then again, considering the topic Renard wrote about, the anchor was not really surprised. It was almost a surreal experience; although the show often discussed political events, and almost always started with an interview, it rarely started with an interview tied within politics. However, Renard's agents demanded the first interview spot, and the network wanted the exclusive deal with her, so amends had to be made.
One of the filming women yelled out, "We're live in 5..."
The audience started to lighten up. The show was about to start, and they could no longer hide their glee. The room was overtaken by gleeful chatter.

Hiver glanced down at the table in front of her. It was stacked with copies of the same book Renard wrote. There was no doubt that these were copies to be distributed to the audience sometime into the show.

The audience exploded in a cacophony of applause and cheer. Good Morning France, which many Frenchwomen listened to start their day, was finally live, and the crowd were lucky enough to experience it live. Jeannette just smiled, letting some time pass for an off-stage announcer to read off all the guests for the benefits of the TV watchers. By the time the crowd quieted down, which it always did on its own, it would be time for her to talk. In a few seconds, the audience simmered down just as expected, and a red light on one of the cameras turned green, indicating that the anchor should start talking.
"Bonjour, France, from Paris. As always, this is Jeannette Hiver, and I would like to welcome our first guest this morning. Now, many of you know that France, as the world's first nation controlled by a Matriarchy, is a lot different than the other nations on the Earth. From the Japanese invasion of China, to the chaos in Vietnam, and the short naval war the so-called 'Pirate King', our world is filled with constant bloodshed."
Jeannette extended her arm towards Annette, who smiled in turn. The anchor continued her speech, "But our first guest here today, Annette Renard, correctly noted in her breakout first book that France enjoys a special kind of peace unprecedented in modern history. And, according to her, there is a reason for that. Let's hear it from the author of The Folly of Men"
"Well, you see, Jeannette, all the nations in recorded history, excepting modern day France, were dominated by men. Sure, there are many, many cases of women running nations and becoming great leaders, but there was definitely a stigma against us. These nations were plagued with constant warfare, which they often even idolized. However, our culture does not idolize war, and we do not create meat grinders for the sake of creating meat grinders. Yes, we have an army, and we even got into a few isolated conflicts, but they were all in defense of France and the women of Earth. We did it because we had to, not because we wanted to. And we didn't make them wars".
Jeannette nodded in agreement, before asking, "And as I hinted earlier, there was a reason for this".
"Yes," Annette responded, "there is. Back before civilization, before the development of the Patriarchy and humanity enjoyed true egalitarianism, humanity had a predicament. We were in small nomadic bands, searching the land for food. To get food, there was a division of labor, for even though we treated ourselves equal, the sexes themselves are different. We we mature sexually, we produce different hormones. Girls make estrogen, and boys make testosterone. The latter is extremely important in all of this. Testosterone has been proven by scientists that it impairs thinking, as all of you women probably know if you ever had a teenage brother. I know my bother became an idiot after puberty."
As the crowd laughed at her joke as she continued, "It also makes you aggressive, which evolution actually selected for. Since humans have internal development instead of external, birth was an investment for women while it was fire-then-forget for males. Therefore, it made biological sense for men to compete for women rather than the other way around. To make sure they were on the top, men would often have to fight other men for a woman, so those who were more aggressive would win out
Due to the aggressiveness of sexually mature men, it was logical to send them out for hunting, while women gathered. This worked for most of the paleolithic era, but the dawn of the agricultural revolution changed everything. Since we no longer had to spend every moment of the day wandering around for food, not everyone had to work. Men were naturally aggressive, and not having to work is the ultimate status symbol of being on top. Therefore, males clamored to be set enough to not work"

This meant humanity glorified aggressiveness, impulsiveness, brashness, and everything that testosterone provides. Men would pick fights with other men for little to no reason, and start killing each other with first rocks, then iron, then lead, and finally with uranium."
"So, what you're saying", Jeannette responded, "is that wars start because societies favor men, and being male means fighting for superiority."
"Exactly", Annette responded.
"And since women are not limited by testosterone as men are, we do not carry these traits. Nor estrogen limits us in the same way as testosterone. Therefore, any state dominated by women will return us to our egalitarian roots".
The author smirked. "You did read my book, Jeannette."
"So you're in favor of neutering men, then?," asked Hiver.
"Well", responded Renard, "Last year my brother was caught running in the woods way past male curfew. Local police wanted to be lenient on Charles since it was his first time and there was a protest organized around Roche about the practice. You see, Roche is a college town, so we get a lot of foreigners who don't see the same light. Anyways, let's just say, I made sure the law was applied to him. He's been a much better person since."

"Charles says that too, now. Although he certainly wasn't happy at first. That experience actually motivated me to write. And now that I notice, I have to say you remind me of Charles. Both of you have that blond hair," Renard said, "But that's besides the point. What I was trying to say was, once we develop an artificial sperm, and we don't need men to reproduce, Earth would be so much better off if we snip off every pair of testes.

The Texarkana Mayornate is announcing the creation of the Canal Zone Reconstruction Company. The CZRC will be tasked with restoring the Panama Canal. The state-ran corporation is selling stock and bonds to generate the start-up capital required begin the operation. We hope to start work next summer.
In other news, Texarkana is also undertaking an infrastructure project and currency reform.
As you would imagine, decades of neglect hasn't done the highways many favors. While still usable, stretches of highways within Texarkana are in need of repair that local governments cannot perform for lack of funds. The Congress of Texarkana, therefore, has set into budget grants that will be handed down to local city governments that will be used to restore the highways.

The Bank of Texarkana will also oversee the conversion of various existing currencies to Texark Dollars by way of switching the currencies stored in local banks.

Mayor Hannegan II, believing that the Republic of Tennessee (an ally of the Mississippi Pact), could still be won over as an ally and trade partner in the future, failed to notice the societal and economic tensions in that country, which ultimately collapsed in 2080.
Even the previous Mayor of Texarkana, Hannegan III, did not see a reason to expand east of the Mississippi, and opted for north and westward expansion. It was not until the conclusion of the Caribbean War that a mayor, the current Mayor Hannegan IV, saw need to gain ports on the East Coast. Hannegan IV's focus has, since the time of his election, been focused to the east to potential trade partners in Europe and Africa.
Because of this, Hannegan IV has ordered that four divisions be sent east to take hold of the various settlements and peoples living across the river. The addition of Lexington, Memphis, Atlanta, Louisville, and the prize of them all, Chicago, will come with the added benefit of giving the Mayor leverage when it comes time to establish the first mayor in these cities.
New Rome, situated in St. Louis, would benefit from not being on the "edge of civilization". The coming missionary work that will go into converting the peoples to the east to New American Catholicism will, in large part, be carried out by priests embedded in the military units.
In other news, Texarkana is also undertaking an infrastructure project and currency reform.

While still usable, stretches of highways within Texarkana are in need of repair that local governments cannot perform for lack of funds. The Congress of Texarkana, therefore, has set into budget grants that will be handed down to local city governments that will be used to restore the highways.

The Platonic Republic has promised to deploy builders of the worker caste to help with the cannel constructions and will be happy to sent the teams now to help the CZRC in their development. This will help increase the rates of the cannel reconstruction so that the merchants of the worker caste may benefit so that they can help benefit the Platonic Republic.
