Improvements, features etc.

Nice idea, I just don't know what to do with the paths. Once you use it on a hill, the paths sink and disappear

You see I have flat, hill and peak and it nicely smooths over them. It's even dynamic making each tile look different :D
 
Nice. Really. I used Town. I've wasted time making various tents so far and haven't tried it in-game yet.
Your roads are normal roads from the game, right? They're not part of the national park model...

Now, as I look at how the farm really flows around the terrain, I got
an idea how to develop your journey :)
 
Yes, those are normal roads. The idea is that only the tiny paths are part of the improvement, while roads run through it normally, whether they are Roads, Railroads or anything.

No problem. I'm just not always fast. Terrain and landscape things interest me. My mod has a lot of terrain improvements, improvements and wonders that change the landscape. Earthquakes leave cracks in their wake and sometimes a tornado will pass through the ground. I like it.

BTW will it leave the trees on the tile? That would be ideal to make the make the paths run under/among the trees, not removing the entire forest.

:) I haven't released my mod for many years. First of all, it's terribly slow, I only play on small maps and even then I wait for a turn for several minutes in the middle of the game.
Secondly, since I'm not a programmer, I just insert and sometimes edit, I have a big bug somewhere and I can't find it. The game sometimes crashes when founding a city. That is, right at the beginning, and then at any time later. When it crashes just like that, I look for which opponent founded the city. It's annoying but I still really enjoy playing my mod.

My idea from yesterday is to cut them out of a field. Then I'll put tents, a log cabin, and a firewood rack on top of that. It should work.

Do you pack your art files into .PAK files? That has a huge impact on speed.

Even if you don't want to publish your mod for the public you could still upload it somewhere and share it (only) with the modding community. I for example love to gather ideas from other mods. Weather effects are certainly something I'm interested in, though I don't know how you have implemented those.

It would be certainly good to have trees on forest/jungle tiles. But a National Park can also be on a desert tile (White Desert) or on mountains (Fuji, Everest, etc). I'm even thinkin about a water version (Great Barrier Reef, coral reefs, etc), thought I don't know ho it could be done? Maybe a few yachts and piers on the coast?
 
You're right about FPK. I never managed to package it in a way that the game would read it, so I have all the models unpacked.

As for the national park, I use both sets of Natural Wonders. The one from Platy and the older one. The older one is used to establish national parks, which are then part of the enlightened victory. I solve them by demarcating the area on land and by confusing aquatic vermin at sea.

If you want your national park file to work on the forest, what function will it be? Improvement?
 
Yes, what I need is an Improvement.
I will also use a Building that requires the Improvement, but that's a different issue, I don't need model for that.

Man, I'd really like to see your mod. I may even try to FPk it...
 
White desert - two variants

I'd like to ask for some small tweaks about White Dessert:

As you see the two white patches are not on the same level on the Z axis. This makes one of them float in the air.
And I'd also like the patches bigger, maybe double.

I tried to do these tweaks in Nifscope but they can't be edited separately only as a single thing:

So If you just make this one thing into 4 that's also fine with me or even better, so I can fine tune it to my liking :)

Either you can do, I'm happy with that :)
 
I'm deliberately putting NiNodes together and also NiTriShape. The file is smaller and the game works better with it.
I separated it for Park so that it works better for you.
I'll do it for you with this model too :)

I don't see anything even similar on satellite maps or photos. Maybe you have something newer/better since?
