You dare call the High Priests ludicrous?! We suggest you retract that statement. Our position as Defender of the Faith does not entail protecting nations. It carries with it the duty to protect Trinitists, regardless of nationality. That is why we tried to bring peace, to protect the Trinitists who will die if the war continues. But perhaps you do not care for their suffering? Perhaps you care only for your own power, and not for the wellbeing of your brothers in the faith?

We have never made any demands of Svearland. We have only offered possible solutions to this conflict. You made the presumptuous demand that we "keep our noses out of Norway". Like you, we dislike other nations attempting to dictate our foreign policy. You requested that we reach an understanding. We then made it clear under what circumstances we would keep our noses out of Norway. It was a possible partnership between us, not demands made of Svearland. In truth, that proposal was intended as a satire, to demonstrate the folly of your arguments. Apparently we misinterpreted the Scandinavian mindset; we thought it could comprehend satire. We recognize our mistake, and shall avoid such subtleties in the future.

You must show us partnership and that you deserve the title the Vicars have bestowed upon you.

First, you are not worthy to judge the High Priests. Only the Trinity may judge them. Second, your interpretation of partnership seems to be one with which we are unfamiliar. We will wait until Sveraland is accepted as a true and equal partner. Once this is done we will gladly enterain greater alliances with the Holy Celtic Empire. Until such time we shall remain guarded. The reason why this is familiar to you is that you have no partners at the moment, only those in a state of relgious vassaliage to yourself.

We protest the term protector of the faith being used in regards to the 'Holy' Celtic Empire and the obvious attempts to use their title to gather more political power in their hands. We bow down to no one but the Trinity and his apostles, and while we remain within the Church we put Scandinavia outside the protection of any Celtic power, in the mind that we are not Celtic and do not need nor desire their protection. We humbly ask in review of this that you revoke the Holy Celtic Empire's status as protector of the faith and instead give this title to all Trinitist Kingdoms in an effort to promote partnership between Trinist nations not vassalige to the Holy Celtic Empire.
