Instant e-mail notifications have stopped being sent

Why don't you guys just get the new host to instate a strict SPF record? It'll mark any server besides your own as being spam while also verifying that your specific server is cool beans and legitimate.

I just got an email notification for a current OT thread - does this mean the problem is fixed? :)
 
I suspect that email notifications were enabled in response to the massive ad bot attack earlier today (more than 200 bot posts). Now the bots will have to reply to an email message before they can post. I don't know whether this change is permanent.

Scratch the above striked-out sentence. Not so sure now,
 
Thunderfall informed me that, due to our server again being used to send spam, he will disable email later today.
 
Please not too long... Iron Pen 4 is coming up and that activity works much better with reliable notifications when PMs are waiting. :please:
 
So this is a bug I have with the actual civfanatics forums themselves: I don't receive notification emails for new posts on a thread, which has directly lead to my not being active on this site at all (even though I want to be).

I have changed the email several times and received nothing, so I don't know what to do, hence why I've asked here. Can anyone help me?

Same here, but this is nothing new. We had a brief time, months ago, when we were getting email notifications. Prior to that, it was over a year and a half without any. The server migration that we hoped would work, didn't.

I hope the staff has not just given up on this.
 
We hope to upgrade the forum software sometime next year to fix the email issue. However, the plans are indefinite.
 
I've just had a small flood of email notifications coming through to my Update, Forum, and Spam folders (I use Gmail).

Does this mean the problem is almost fixed?
