Instant e-mail notifications have stopped being sent

I have friends who are trying to join that are not able. I hope you're working on it!! You have a great database of information here!
 
Just for the record, about a week ago, all of a sudden I got like a million emails from cfc. It is a yahoo account. A lot of the older emails went to spam, but the newer ones were coming to my inbox. I can't give a current update, because I disabled email notifications after that, because it got annoying getting emails for posts a month ago.
 
All forum mail ends in my spam bin (gmail). Creating a filter appears to work, but the mail gets delayed for days and it seems like some never arrive. The other advice about adding sender as contact etc all failed.

This is really annoying and has actually hurt my modding productivity more than I like to admit :cry:

I looked into the gmail guides on why the mail is marked as spam. The first thing is that sender is written

If we look at Bulk Senders Guidelines, it says
  • Use a consistent IP address to send bulk mail.
  • Keep valid reverse DNS records for the IP address(es) from which you send mail, pointing to your domain.
  • Use the same address in the 'From:' header on every bulk mail you send.
I suspect honouring this list will make the via go away and the mail will no longer be marked as spam.
 
I'd forgotten that I had some gallery subscriptions. Whatever became of those?
 
Well, now the emails are working again but they are still going to spam. I'll just have to write a rule to move them out of spam I guess until ainwood sorts out the spam designation for the site.

Could you please look into this, ainwood? This situation has gone beyond annoying. None of the suggestions made so far have worked for me, and even if they did, it's a workaround, not a real solution.

Ok, there were 5 other who used the CFC contact form about activation problems, but apparently either did not send us their correct user name or did succeed in creating an account. If you are still hanging fire out there, try the contact form again and be sure give us the correct account name.

It's still not working for me.

This is ridiculous. I'm tired of constantly having to check my spam folders, and even when I get PMs, I don't even get notified of them via what's in the spam.

Until this gets fixed, I'm gone.
 
Even though the mails aren't marked as spam anymore (for whatever reason) it still isn't working correctly. Sometimes the mails are nearly instant and sometimes there are delays. Half an hour ago I got 4 mails at the same time. All those mails were about posts being made 3 days ago :eek:
I'm missing some mails for today. I wonder how many days they will be delayed.

While I for some reason no longer get the mails marked as spam, the system still isn't working reliably and not receiving a mail about new posts still isn't the same as nobody posted.

EDIT: just received the mail for the previous post being posted... 50 minutes too late.
