My only concern would be that if everyone has equal expansion and an equal footing, the net result is China and India will be greatly colonised unless a proportional number of players start there.

MP2 is about 850 years after MP, however, so I'd assume by then, given IOT economic cycles(that is, the world recovers from total annihilation in a matter of decades before blowing the heck up again), there have been two or three new paradigms and Cataclysms.
