I think you can do better than that map. For one thing, it has too many territories. I suggest using the one I made for ilduce's IOT.

    Spoiler map :

I don't see the problem with having too many territories though. Sure, in ilDuce's, he would have to manage economies and the like but my IOT would keep the "five claims" deal, making things relatively stable.

Very interesting... if it has a good map related to research bases, I'd sign up.

It sounds cool but I think the map could use a little work. How about making it a little more flooded, also if your going to add a new continent how about making the map a little wider.

That's the thing; it'd take forever to claim or conquer someone in war. Something I quickly found out with IOTVI.

I'm changing up the way LP/Attacking works so that 1 territory=1 LP and implementing a very simple naval system. There'll be LP-XP trading as well so with a lot of provinces, selling XPs in the beginning for LPs can be beneficial for a smaller empire and important for an expansionist.

While I like the Vicky map (Sonereals is the vicky map right?)
I think Tailles' is better. Alot of the territories look better, plus its easier to manage.

Well both are actually versions of the Vicky map modified by me. :)

So, um... because I'm a glutton for punishment, I've been pondering the second chapter of IOT4 in Reiser's absence. If it goes to launch, it would probably be in late Spring. The catch is, I'd need to get a census of which players are likely to return.

I'm also trying to determine what rule changes will be necessary for the post-apocalyptic setting. Combat will either be a return to OFP, time willing, or a variation on tailless' formula. I've considered implementing weapons-grade nuclear research and development, although thus far I haven't determined an appropriate method. The biggest change would be introducing the Abhorrents as an independent faction tied to radioactive contamination.

The other thing I'm looking into is industrial production to replace reputation as the basic unit for special projects. It's also a means of calculating national strength in relation to contaminated territory (Blue Zones operate at high efficiency, Red Zones are practically worthless). Reputation still plays a role in certain programmes and definitely remains a lynchpin of diplomacy.

The most important factor in sorting this all out is that I don't want to spend hours on calculations. If anyone has plausible suggestions in this regard, I'm all ears. I am considering a subjective basis of tying advantage and obstacle directly to roleplay, pursuant to Reiser's idea of a "story-driven" game. This also means that if I return as GM, I will claim the final say in all game matters, and will clamp down on problems -and problem players- early. At the risk of suggesting elitism, I'll say that this hypothetical sequel is geared toward a certain calibre of forumer.

I would return, if I am invited too/

As for ideas, it seems simple enough to simply make the Blue areas worth 2 income (Or whatever your system is), yellow areas 1 income, and red areas 0 (They're only places to fight over or whatever.)

Not sure what you are thinking of however...

Oh yes, yes, yes, I'll return alright. Inquilab zindabad! :D

A variation it'd have to be. The formula as it currently stands is terribly unrefined.

I'll use the simpler map than. It does look pretty good and is stilled pretty detailed regardless. Plus, I love the Pacific islands.

@Thor, is this a continuation of the one you GM'ed? I'd support using Tailles's system. It seems to be working fairly well through IOT VI, and we even survived a World War, even though everyone had made peace in the next turn. I would definitly return. That was my favorite IOT so far.

Thorvald I'm interested despite me playing very few turns. Would we return to our old nations or create new ones?

I'd probably return as some sort of faction that worships the abhorrents, born directly out of the ruins of the Neo-Incan/Marian state. (The Abhorrents are the furry mutants, yes?)

Sounds like what my friend VladDrakken(who originally created the Neo-Incas) would do since he has a fetish for religions and whatnot(we do butt heads on how he prefers goddesses though), but it could be fun.
