Heroically Clueless
Suddenly reminds me of DYOS (which tbh I think would be more awesome if everyone kept it to adventuring individuals).
Hitler's election and the attempted coup of Austria are the only WWII-leading events that are not covered in '36. The re-occupation of the Rhine hasn't happened yet(not to mention even the Anschluss of Ausrtria), the invasion of Ethiopia hasn't happened yet(Nor the annexation of Albania), and the invasion of Cina hasn't happenend yet (Although I believe Japan has got manchuko by now I don't recall for sure)1936? But, I thought you wanted to leave a possibility to not have WW2...![]()
Ironically, just about every DYOS has ended in gratuitous space battles.Suddenly reminds me of DYOS (which tbh I think would be more awesome if everyone kept it to adventuring individuals).

There's a lot of different things that could happen to prevent or drastically alter WWII.
In fact, Classic IOTs operate on a very different sets of assumptions from the later IOTs which most of you are know. It's all about Cooperation Not Competition. The earliest IOTs weren't games (implying competition) as much as collaborative storytelling. They originally started as egoistic mapmaking exercises where people would takeover a region of the world and then mostly play with and within their own countries; interaction with other players were limited consisting mostly of diplomatic treaties and trade and joint actions involving international criminals, terrorists, economic crises, emergency disaster aid, environmental concerns, etc. Any international disputes were to be settled by diplomacy, in the United Nations thread. The unspoken rule was that war was to be avoided, and countries don't need to prove themselves to be better than the others; this is why people who came in bragging about a 10 million men army were frowned upon.
I thought it was NES that was based on stats?![]()
If I join as Yugoslavia (The Kingdom), how easily can I change to a Titoist Yugoslavia, or can I join as the Ustasha (Croat nationalists) and wait for someone to give me a hand in liberating Greater Croatia.
Its not funny when you explain the joke.
I don't know how you can make that connectoh right Coruscant.I see the fate of DYOSes and IOTs run somehow parallel. I wonder if there are any connections... *stares at Thorvald, TK and CivGeneral*
SO YOU KILLED IT!! I KNEW IT!!I started quantifying stats not to try and make games infinitely complex, but to give players some more stuff to work with. Most folks will find it hard to gauge economics or militaries and the like, hence the idea behind actually quantifying such. You can't claim to be the economic superpower unless your GDP far surpasses everyone else's.
Uhh, no. I've never joined a <purely> RP-based IOT. From what I can tell, IOT is much more mechanically inclined compared to many NES's
I believe this has been established for a while.
I digress, the two still aren't all that different.
