If your having Orthodox and Catholic then why not Shia and Sunni? Why not different pagan faiths like Norse, Slavic, Suomenusko, Tengri, etch? Also Judaism in relation to the Khazars?
Zoroastrianism would also be interesting considering the early start.

As for unique: perhaps be flexible and allow players to choose their unique, allowing them to design them? For instance; Vikings adopt berserkers, Finnish adopt Baltic Warriors, Welsh adopt longbow men, Mongols horse archers, Arabia adopt camel archers, Persia adopt war elephants etch, etch, etch.

You need to consider these for the purpose of a greater and flexible game.

- Catholic (Infantry has 20% more STR, Artillery has 5% more STR). Unique Units: Halberdier (Spain), Cavalier (France), Templar (Jerusalem), Teutonic Knight ( Germany, Poland ) , Longbowman ( England) , Crossbowman (Italy) , Raider (Hungary)
- Orthodox (+30% farming efficiency, -10% stability). Unique Units: Boier (Romania), Spearman (Balkans), Bear Cavalry (Russia), Militiamen ( Georgia), Roman Infantry (Byzantium).
- Independent Orthodox ( no bonuses). Unique Units: Light Cavalry, Javeliner
- Norse (+33% str when attacking non-pagans, -20% str when defending vs. pagans) Unique Units: Berserker, Varangian Guard
- Mongol (can move to up to two different provinces per turn) Unique Units: Horse Archer, Savage Brute
- Shia Muslim ( need to find bonus). Unique Units; Saracen, Akkyundji, Mameluke
- Sunni Muslim (need to find bonus). Unique Untis: Janissary, Spahi, Abus Gun

I just relooked at the comic, I'm sorry for the banned word, I didn't even notice it (to be fair the f was merged into the lining). It was intended as a joke, with no disrespect included, I think chester and the other guys knew that.

Funny, I never used the word "hate". because I think that hate is irrational. But "dislike" is a milder, more normal version, which is socially acceptable. Example: Jimmy hates black people. Jimmy insults them, looks agrily at them and is violent towards them. Carl only dislikes black people. He preffers not to get into arguments with them, but can stay in the same room with them without doing anythnig disrespectful. Capiche?
