IOT Organisational and Discussion Thread

You may also want to wait a little before launching this as most new IOT's seem to be having a hard time at the moment.

Maybe you are right.

Also what do you think of the rules?

Anyone else have the feeling that this section is a tad quiet as of late? Probably because a lot of people went back to school/work.

Hopefully it is just a dip in interest. We will find out anyway.

I'm thinking of doing a Mosaic Earth IOT where countries from different universes and time periods are magically transported to a Virgin Earth where sapient life never evolved. It will be quite simple, as I was pretty overwhelmed with the micromanaging in PL2. However, any IOT from me will have to wait until at least Febuary, and even then Iron and Blood 2 will be out by then.

I've got Carib's map in the works, and I think I've come up with rules for a GM-light one in the meantime.
After Carib, HaN comes back from hiatus, and I had a lot of players there.

Should my next IOT's expansion be governed by IC or XP? I'm ruling out armies since that would imply that the player is conquering; the point is that they're sending out settlers to populate an empty Earth.

Should my next IOT's expansion be governed by IC or XP?

Why not have both?

Depends on the map, but IC is usually better I guess.

IC, most definitely.

For the record, I'm using the RIOT map.

Okay, so my next IOT will either be the sequel to my previous one, or an EU3-based one.

By EU3-based, I mean I'll be using this map(Unless somebody can find me the D&T map, imo it looks better plus Byzantium doesn't suck in the start date for that mod. Or someone could give me a full-map screenshot of the D&T start and I could color all the nations in using HJ's map.), I'll be borrowing over all diplomatic options(Including integrating and diplo-annexing), full-scale war mechanics(As in just because you take a province doesn't mean you own it), COT's, country forming(IE, Brandenburg/TO forming Prussia, England/Scotland forming Great Britain, etc)[That is mostly done through RP], and army caps. Stuff could be added to the list if I remember another mechanic that could make for an interesting IOT but still be possible for me. Yes, there is no balance between say, Castille and Luxembourg. Just like normal EU3. We'll just have to hope that our players are cooler than to pick the overpowering nations :p.

Also, only Europe/north Africa/West Middle East will be viable starts. This is because I honestly don't feel like doing about three IOT's at once. However, as more nations are reviled they become unlocked to play as. And if a nation is somehow kicked out of their homeland, they become a new nation via colony. Let's say, Portugal is kicked out of Iberia and now governs over Brazil, what was their colony. They then must become a Brazilian nation. The player will have to write an rp or face major stability affects and/or automatic secession across their lands.

edit: Should I keep the wasteland provinces wastelands or try my hand at map-making and divide them into smaller provinces? Or just keep them that big? :p

My interest is honestly geared towards the EU3 one, but I wanna see which is more interesting to you guys.

That EU3 project is really interesting.

Personally, I'm more interested in the sequel to IOT:SAR, but if you want to shelve that for now, I would be happy to try out the other.

Tyo, your game sounds like the lovechild between IOT and NES.

Still, I'd prefer the SARquel.

I prefer the EU3 IOT.
