Considering the success of DjIOT that we host on chat, I've been having some ideas of hosting a movie night. There are several free websites that allow people to stream movies /content and they also have a chat. One would not need a particularly strong internet to watch but also to stream. I've talked to JK and hes up for this. It would be really fun, we could start by next week but we first need to make a draft of movies/genres and a schedule. I could do every friday/saturday as I assume most people could, we could start at 21:00 CET and be able to stream up to 3 movies. I will not be able to stream until the second week of september(upgrading net) so put in your ideas and votes

  • JoanK - Jap Night
  • Nedim - Yugoslav/Partisan Night

I would love to do a Martin Scorsese night.

Obligatory Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now

Maybe we can watch a TV series too? Orange is the New Black is pretty excellent.

The Japanese night would be eminently classic. It would feature for sure 1962 Hara Kiri by Masaki Kobayashi. For the other two, I would choose Rashomon and Yojimbo by Kurosawa, but we could discard one of them to leave place for a modern Japanese film. I'm thinking Takeshi Kitano or Takashi Miike, but I have only watched a couple movies by the first, so that's up in the air for now.

Apocalypse Now should go into a Coppola night, and Full Metal Jacket in Kubrick night.

And a 40s night. Casablanca and Citizen Kane are a given.

did someone say movies? *prepares collection of Tom & Jerry episodes*

Birdemic 2. That is all that needs to be said.

Also, Movies... IN SPACE! night is a must.

You need to do a Kung-Fu night, with Blood Brothers (1973) and the Young Master.

Well if you have a good internet connection and time on a friday night, you could do it sometime christos.

Tarantino night. That is all.

Birdemic 2. That is all that needs to be said.

Ah, the Birdemic Duology. I tried making a party I was hosting watch it, but the peasants revolted before we could move onto the second one. ;)

I would totally join this, but bad internet due to distance + timezone shenanigans + lack of time makes this awesome idea almost impossible for me.

i think i can do this Friday, but i'm not sure when it's night for you all.
I got some random stuff around my computer. Got Wall-E, Avatar ( the one with the blue aliens, not the chinese stuff) , some random action movies and all Tom&Jerry episodes.

I've tested the streaming software (via twitch.tv). It works, the only problem being there is a rather noticeable lag because of my internet. This will be fixed when I get the new internet provider (should come in a week or two).
