Because there's no room in Southeast Asia. If you take Korea and those two territories in northeast Asia, you'll have the same amount of territories as Siam and the two Chinas in the long run.

As I said, I'm not planning to stay permanently in Indochina, I just want SOMETHING in the South, but I'm willing to take Indonesia instead (Or something else, if he won't let me have it.)

I need more territory before going for Manchuria.

Well Dommy, if you would look at the map, Australia owns Indonesia. You can certainly go for Micronesia.
