Iroqi Communication Thread

To the government of TNT,

Aside from goats, which you seem particularly fond of, is their anything else you had in mind that would be an exceptable peace settlement

Robi D

Foreign Affairs Consul, Team Doughnut

We should send them an answer. We can ask for their newest city, all their gold and all their techs. I'm suggesting we ask for so much they will have no choice but to continue the war. An alternative is to ask for all their techs and risk them giving in. What do you say fellow teammates?

If we demand all of their techs and they give it, that would more valuable than what we could gain from the war anytime soon. Remember, troops can also move during peacetime...

Yes, put up writing as a minimum, which triggered the war.

Greetings Robi D,

In answer to your recent message my people have instructed me to tell you we would consider an acceptable and honorable peace between us if you taught us all you know about writing, Code of Laws and map making. If you are inclined to grant us these *fine technologies* as you once called them, we are inclined to end the hostilities between us.

My people await your reply.

PS - all your goats are belong to us.

feedback please...

I think at the minimum, we should ask for writing and map making, before we enter peace. The war is going well, and they will know we golded up immortals if they see the trade screen before we attack.

I also want them to show some respect and humility in their writings, we are after all Iron, they Iroq.

I have been blinded by the holiness of this reply. (Hey, saying that it's okay sounds boring. Give me a damn break).

Do we really want to make peace? Our seems to be to send our immortals down and kick their butts.
Or are we planning on doing a backstab?

I believe were planning to attack when our immortals get down there regardless, this is just an attempt to see if we can get acouple of techs.

Since it will take about 20 turns to get a decent force down there it does make sense to get some techs if they'll offer them. Then when the peace treaty expires we can *renegotiate* or conquer them.

Well, see if we can get them into "peace talks" in chat format.

We should go for minimum writing and map making, possibly more. Workers are also nice to have, and gold is not likely to ask for.

I'm not too keen on chats. Given the fact that we've already beeb accused of breaking rule 2.4 I'm wary of having too much unregulated discussions between us. I think we'd be better off sticking with our e-mail dialogue.

So, should I include a demand for more Iroqi women and some gold in our message? Again, I must ask what it is we are willing to actually take for real peace? Should this message be a sincere effort on our part to get something for peace or not?

we should make an outrageous tech demand, then see if they can negotiate workers and gold.

Also, we should have an internal dialogue with Regentman and Ginger Ale. ONLY, in order to kill the debate about "spirit of the game". I am now convinced the sneaks at KISS and MIA would do anything to get a leg up on us, right or not. Look at Daghda, he is even counting the number of times I am mentioning their affinity for using the admins and moderators against us.
They are now bridging the atmosphere of the game thing with the spirit of the game thing, pushing Admiral Kudzov in front of them, claiming he has nothing to do with the team. Frankly, I do not trust Team KISS at all, and we should now end Team Doughnut, and make sure we sink Team KISS's fleet coming our way from East. Diplomacy this game is futile.

KISS plays to win, and they may play dirty, not through rule violations, but extreme rule interpretations, asking the admins to do their bidding.
I know Whomp is sportsmanslike and fair, but some of them are real bad.

You know Provo I've been wondering about Admiral Kudzov. I looked at the sign up thread and he's not listed on any team. So why's he so bothered by the rules discussion if he isn't even playing the bleeping game?

Back on topic, should I send the message demaning the three techs or should I include workers and gold? Your suggestion seems to be to ask for techs now and then add workers and gold afterwards...

yes ask for three technologies tentatively, and hint gold and workers, not outright. Set an aggressive demand, and let them feel they gain some by reducing the gap.

Greetings Robi D,

In answer to your recent message my people have instructed me to tell you we would consider an acceptable and honorable peace between us if you pay us a tribute of 100 gold now plus 3 gold per turn in perpetuity; send a group of Iroqi men (a worker) to husband the Iroqi women already residing with our people; and teach us all you know about writing, Code of Laws and map making. If you are inclined to grant us these *fine technologies* (as you once called them) and send us the gold and worker, we are inclined to end the hostilities between us.

My people await your reply.

Thanks RegentMan - I must not have been looking at the end of the signup thread. I can now understand the Admiral's rantings...

Good call donsig, good negotiation platform, so we can make some minor concession and let them feel they gained some.
Also ask for a more respectful communication from them as well.

We could consider cutting down the demands just a bit. Requesting so much for peace might just completely eliminate any chance of negotiation, as they won't believe it will be possible to get a fair price (from their perspective). Perhaps removing the gold part, but keeping the three techs and the workers will make them willing to negotiate to a fair level (from our perspective of course).

That's a good one

Greetings Robi D,

In answer to your recent message my people have instructed me to tell you we would consider an acceptable and honorable peace between us if you treat us with honor and respect, pay us a tribute of 10 gold now plus 1 gold per turn in perpetuity; send a group of Iroqi men (a worker) to husband the Iroqi women already residing with our people; and teach us all you know about writing, Code of Laws and map making. If you are inclined to grant us due respect, these *fine technologies* (as you once called them) and send us the gold and worker, we are inclined to end the hostilities between us.

Reduced gold significantly and asked for respect. Ok to send yet?

yes, this one can be sent. The gold demand could be too much.
