Is "don't ask don't tell" an acceptable policy?

While I don't think "don't ask don't tell" is a fair policy to homosexuals in the military, I do think it is a fair policy for farting. Who agrees?

I'm not comparing gay people to farts, I'm just saying the "don't ask don't tell policy" would be better applied to farts than to gays.

It's not a fair question. Enclosed public space farting should be ruthlessly exposed where possible due to the fact that all parties present are rendered guilty due to the difficulty in providing proof of guilt. It's even worse when chicks do it as generally they will be perceived as innocent.

I was once unloading a shipping container with 3 or 4 others, when I did unfortunately let slip a stinker. Being the truck driver, I was the stranger in this little gang. In such a confined space, very quickly someone noticed and immediately began demanding of the others who had done the deed. Each of them denied it and accused the others, but no one accused me. Duty bound, and to keep the peace, I did have to admit to them "I think it might actually have been me". They thought this highly amusing.

It could have been worse. I knew a terrible farter who could fell a duck with his stench at 50 yards into a facing wind.

But don't you think that's better than the culprit being blamed? People can't really control whether they fart or not, and it will spare them plenty of humiliation.

This has nothing to do with raising children. I'm just trying to protect farters from discrimination.

Equally, it's common sense to me that people who can't fart can't raise children. Or do much else, either.

I can can count on one hand the number of farts I've done that I genuinely had no control over and just happened at inopportune times.

OTOH.....the ones I have timed to perfection with accompanying fanfare number in their thousands.

I thought the farting rule was to misdirect the suspicion by asking but not telling.
