Is it OK to hate your own country?

Is it OK - Yes. As to whether you should find somewhere else to live, I suppose that depends on what's meant by 'country' - governmental/social/national bodies/identities (as I think most people here are assuming) or geographical/environmental elements?

Governments and societies can be changed by their people, weather on the other hand is cause to move: chase the sun

Yeah I don't think its wrong to hate your country.

I don't agree with the poster here saying that if you hate where you live that you should leave. Theres often things you can do to make where you live better.

Yes. However, I must say that if you hate the place you're living, then for your own good, you should find somewhere else to live.

But what if that better place to live does not exist?

I don't think it is ok.

You can hate your government, but not your country.

It is like you can dislike certain things that someone in your family did. But family is family.

But hated family is still family too...

what if I'm republican and only love "real America" and hate the rest of it?

Then you and "real America" should get a room, lock yourselves in and stay there.

Well didn't a large proportion of Americans side with the British in the US Revolutionary War too?

When the commies gain control, you'll soon come round to their point of view.
