You can see that the tiles have various images on them. There's the VII sunburst, a scarab, and a pair of winged lions. Do these reflect the civs in the game? You can see that the player is playing Egypt. Is the winged lion icon Aksum? Can we deduce or confirm some civs from the tileset?

Hope not! A big appeal to me is not knowing who I’d find just beyond the FoW. If it dropped civ iconography onto the tiles after we meet them I’d be more inclined to like it, but the screenshot doesn’t seem to imply that

You can only see the icons on the tiles close to your revealed map, so it's possible that they would only show other civs' icons on the tiles after you've met them and pushed out the map edges a little bit.
I remember there used to be a way to know what everyone was playing in civ 5 with one of the victory/achievement boards hope the new mods they add for interfaces are good and that you can randomize them
