It seems my own monitor is set in a more lit state, cause most people claim the images are darker than is workable.

-Do these look way too dark/ can you identify the forms/ is this looking natural re lighting?

I can make out the forms by looking closely. A quick look would not work as well. If this is an image that one intends the audience to linger on then it may work but if it is for a quick look then it may not. I probably would not be able to make out a room number on the door or branding on the ice machine. The contrasting wallpaper and carpet help significantly in making sense if the image.

You may wish to examine the colors. The colors seem too bright for a dimly lit hall.

Thanks... :)

It would have been far darker if i wasn't using an external to the scene light as well.
Btw, 'ice-machine'? :D It is just a generic piece of furniture with drawers.

It looks like a hotel hallway to me, so I assumed it was an ice machine. If the intention is to make the picture so dim so that one cannot determine if it is an ice machine or a dresser than it works. I don't know if that is the level of dimness you are aiming for or not.

Playing with 3D rendering?
It will depend on where people view the scene. It's not too dark in my monitor, I can see the walls and furniture easily. But it may be too dark in one with a worse color gamut or calibration.

Hm, here is the same with +10 lightness, +2 constrast added:

Better? Too lit?

Probably some setting between the two would work best.

I think the most important thing you could improve is texture placement in general. For instance, in that scene the ground carpet texture seems displaced and clipped through the wall, and the wall texture is slighty rotated counter-clockwise.

Is this too dark in your monitor settings? :)

Oh, is that a room? I see a few lights and something that looks vaguely like walls.

A closer look at the top picture... are those paintings or windows?
