ITNESI History Thread

Having read it all I must say very nice work. Only one minor tick:

Lastly, Khmeria underwent reconstruction; the rebuilt Vyadhapura was a masterpiece of engineering, the most modern city in the world.
Capital name should be either Funan City, or simply Funan - it was a (rather vaguely described) radial design centered on the confluence of the Tonle Sab and the Mekong, as opposed to Vyadhapura which had mostly been on one bank (OTL Phnom Penh). New name was chosen in honor of the progenitor state of the modern Khmer Empire, obviously. That and it's shorter and has a certain ring to it.

Otherwise, all good, such mention as there was of me anyway. ;)

Metal China?

Forged with the iron of Chosen swords. ;)

And Jingjing, capitol of capitols?

Inspired by Kyoto.

So, when does this thing start?

As soon as possible.

I thought the old players could take the countries they had before?

Yes, yes they could. If they act fast enough...

Could somebody list up those open nations?

Aztlan, Adena, Guangala, Huancac (Dis switched...), Tiwanuku, Brigantea, Icenia, Norge, Jutland, Svearland, Frankreich, Cimberland, Wenedia, Slavania, Nadruvia, Mordvinia, Onoghuria, Wagadou, Khoisania, Phoenicia, Israfid, Turan, Choson, Suzhou.

How strangely blessed my nations seem to be with such short BT descriptions.

Its kinda in the corner of the world, no matter what it does. ;) Plus there isn't much that could happen to it, realistically, apart from some interventions in India and China.

I am offended das, absolutely offended, that you would assume that my successors would be warmongerers!

Ahem, your dynasty got overthrown. Then the dynasty that overthrew it got overthrown too. Then the heirs of the man who had overthrown the dynasty in question warmongered a bit. ;)

Which religion is Phoenicia?

At present, Phoenician Polytheism, but there are a) foreign influences and b) an influential, well-developed, tolerated (but not officially accepted) domestic monotheist movement, Elaism.

I wonder if the previous Tieh Emperors have made any claims on the Chosonian Throne?

Oh, certainly...

What happened to the Last Emperor/Empress of the Wu turned Han?

Well, he died at some point. :p

btw scientifcly speaking, who are the most advanced kingdoms?

Its rather difficult to measure... Aryavarta, Khmeria, Hong Kong and Nihon are obvious; in the West, Nortugal, Carthage and DIE are the most advanced. But most others aren't really all that backwards, if only because it isn't very easy to contain the spread of technology. One must also keep in mind that the most obvious and noticeable advances were made in maritime spheres (shipbuilding, astronomy) which is why these seven, being maritime powers, seem obviously more advanced. Ofcourse, they haven't been neglecting other spheres neither; Dacians, for instance, have excellent engineering and culinary, Aryavartans perfected medicine, Khmers and Hong Kees have excellent metallurgy, Carthage is somewhat more behind, but has the best metallurgy in the west, amongst other things. Nortugal and Nihon have particularily excellent shipbuilding and navigation, for obvious reasons.

On Funan - it is easily fixed, don't you think? Anyway, wouldn't the Champanese take some offense? :p

so as Carthage I have contact with the light blue funny people in Mexico, if I could understand their damn relgion.

After five hundred years, I don't think they will mind, particularly given there's no longer much of a distinction, if any at all. ;)

I had contemplated saying something, however considering Vyadhapura was the capitol of Funan, then Funan-Champa (don't forget Funan initiated the union only after much wooing of Champa, and nobody seemed to much mind the consolidation down to one capitol far back in the day), and the new city is built on its site... it doesn't seem a big issue. Sort of like the people of Constantinople being offended they were still in the Eastern Roman Empire for a long time. Besides, it was one turn away from being done when the last IT ended, so theoretically some three hundred years has passed anyway.

Oh baby, I'm so back in.

das, I assume right now HK is on good terms with Khmer/Funan as well as that little religious state?

These and Choson, but the natural commercial competition with Khmeria is rather heated.

Excelent, more Tarunist states. Good BT update, das. :D

I'm quite pleased with the way Tarunia has deleloped. The Tarunist Monks taking over the reigns in Tarunia is what I expected to happen (Taking my BT orders into account). :)

A Tarunist Sweden is a plus, although it's weak.

With those things said, I'm reclaiming Tarunia.

If you haven't noticed yet, Svearland isn't the only new Tarunist nation around. :p

The New World is far behind, I'm afraid.

As for the epidemics, no, they rage on, but I suppose you could say that the worst is over. For now, at least.

Didn't you switch to copper coinage in any case?

Can you tell me a bit about Frankenreich, how decentrlaized is it exactly? What age is it in? How much of a puppet is it to the Gauls? Why is its capital so close to the border?

Claiming my beloved Dacian-Illyrian Empire.. glad to see it recovered :)

Mostly its an ordinary feudal realm - not quite as decentralized as OTL HRE, rather more like France (but not at its worst). The east, however, is very autonomous - similar to OTL Carolingian Marches. It is on roughly the same tech level as Gaul (btw, I didn't yet make a final decision on the exact age system). It isn't officially a puppet at all, but is under Gaelic cultural influence, has dynastic and economic ties, and had of its own accord (but under some unofficial pressure) adjusted its own policies to favour Gaul (freer trade, alliance, support of Cimberland against Dacia, extradition of criminals). The capital is there because it was always there; you can move it you want.

The fedul lords pay heed to the word of the King/Emperor/whatever the dude is called though?

So Solisim is the major religon or are there any others?

Yes, yes they do.

Solism is the dominant religion in Frankreich, but there are some surviving vestiges of German Polytheism, especially in the north but also dispersed in the countryside all over the empire. There had been a recent resurgence of polytheism, actually (probably influenced by Tarunism). Solism still is preeminent in most cities and especially in the western (near to Gaul, and to the capital) and eastern (conquered by "crusaders", and settled by people from the comparatively overpopulated west) extremes.

Das how did the spirits of the Emperors past worship thing go for me? Have I made the Punic state relgion?

Yes, that is the official religion now.

EDIT: Btw, any suggestions about America's name (i.e. about a possible alternative origin of the name or, barring that, about how else it could be called? I am considering "Far West" or just "New World")?
