Yeh, the fact .01% of those thousands are going to legally qualify. And that doesn't mean "granted".

I dont think it will be anywhere that low...i think 25 to 35%, representing family units, may qualify. Afaik, women and children can be detained up to 21 days. I fully support the tent cities and would support extending the days for women and kids to 45 to 60. The men not associated with family units require more/longer screening process. Meanwhile, they can stay at our beautiful tent cities, which will be luxury palaces compared to the hell holes they are coming from.

Now, will the process go better if they come in throwing rocks or waving american flags?

You really want to help these people, cuz you have soo much empathy....if you are semi retired, go down there an volunteer.... a lawyer? Even better!!....go do some pro bono work down at the border for the next couple of months, if you care so much about these people being detained for prolonged periods.

He first elicits emotion in a conversation about lawful/unlawful behavior in the form of an Emma Lazarus poem. Then he falsely accuses me of being racist. Then he has a sidebar with a person openly admitting to trolling me and making less-popular opinions unwelcome. I mean, come on. That person does not deserve to have "demands met". I fell into a trap, putting faith in him he was worth the time discussing this. This all conveniently goes out the window because "HRRR PEOPLE I PERCEIVE SUPPORT ORANGE MAN BAD! HRR".

edit: actually that's not really what I want, because I don't want to see rocks thrown at cops and I don't want to see you get hurt. My point was metaphorical. I don't want to see our military get hurt, but to wit, if these people even hope to present themselves as some legitimate refugees, they won't be throwing things in the first place, so it's a non-issue... until they do it.
