Just saw that headline myself. I sincerely doubt he actually sends that many troops. This is an idiot that claims he has $10 billion whe Forbes estimated him at around $250 million. He can't count, just likes big numbers.

I'm going off articles I read during the election. If they were wrong, blame The Guardian and whoever they were quoting.
The fact that he needed to sell assets to raise money for his campaign is definitely true; he and his son and son-in-law even admitted to selling assets during the campaign, although they didn't admit why. Whether the exact numbers The Guardian was quoting were accurate or not is another question entirely.

Forbes has also said he badgers them to inflate his rating, and they fault themselves for having given in to that over the years. If their estimate of 3b is very recent, then it might fall in the stage when they're trying to do a more accurate assessment, but if it's from a while ago, it might be seriously overstated.
