WMP, as its easier to use with more music.

I hate iTunes - just not good enough for a lot of music.

I use VLC for films.

And I tried many, MANY other players, but still prefer WMP.

Itunes and WinAmp (and Real i believe aswell) come free also, just not with your computer but with your internet connection, ;)

ALt ipod aswell for itunes.

marginal effort for substancial benefit. Your call.

Window player for WMV , Winamp for music and mpeg and Quicktime for MOV.

For what I would use it for, no benefit.

Marginal effort for no benefit makes zero sense.

:)

Depends if WMP decides to cooperate with me.

I use amarok for music. For Windows video media, I use mplayer.

I don't use Windows. ;)

That Amarok actually looks pretty neat, is it only for Linux?

BTW, I am also considering putting Linux on my new HD, but I don't know how often I will use it...

For now, yes. Although the QT toolset is being ported to Windows, and that is the toolset that amarok uses, so maybe....

If you are a serious gamer, you will want to stick with Windows for the time being. Otherwise, a normal user can do pretty much everything in Linux that he does in Windows.

itunes all the way. but for videos i use vcl.

Don't play games as much as I used to.

I mostly use it for this, media, and many other tasks - but I rarely have time for games these days.

Make Winamp a choice and I'll vote to that.

You mean VLC.

VLC is amazing. It plays anything. I always get the error downloading codec or error playing video with WMP, but with VLC I get almost 100% success with any video file I play.

One time I clicked open-with on a .SVE civ1 save file and it played it.

Wow.

What happened?

Can you explain?

I just find the system it uses is simpler to navigate than iTunes, which has all the artists in one big long list.

And I know you could say use the search function but I hate that. I also find most albums by artist but some I can't remember the artist (like OST's) I use the album name. And if there is something I have forgotten the name of it is eaier to browse a small list, rather than one of every single song I have.

However, you are entitled to your own opinion.

This is mine.

EDIT: Sorry, although it may have seemed it, I didn't mean that harshly :).

Windows Media Player. My bro has iTunes installed on my comp, and it disgusts me. I HATE the fade-in-fade-out crap on songs. Plus, Media Player has that awesome toolbar, and the psychadelic visualizer, :scan:
