JalNES I: Quick and Easy

Alex, I think you should put that plan I was telling you about into action, since you made me promise not to do it.

To: Sparta
From: League of the Sea Peoples

It seems that both of us were paranoid for no real purpose. I propose to you a three hundred year non-aggression pact; in return, I shall withdraw from Thessalonika.

Agreed. Paranoia strikes the strongest of us down, and distracts us from our real problems.

What plan?

To Maar
From Brittania

Yes we believe the barbarians. Especially when reports have come in that they're your colony (see stats -_-). You will pay for the damages that you have caused in the past plus a tribute to prove your sincerity. (2 eco) Not only that, but you will also surrender Normandy and will not set up another colony within our premises. Failure to comply will result in your complete demise.

To Normandy
From Brittania

Do you see how your masters abadon younow that their plan has been uncovered? You will surrender immediatly. There will be no discusion of this. Along with your surrender you will turn over your entire treasury, your navy, and your leaders. Failure will result in your entire destruction as we did with the Irish.

To Eirehann
From Brittania

We thank you for your help in patrolling the waters. Centuries ago we gave our assistance to your people in thier war against the Galloglach. After it we signed an alliance promising mutual defence and co-operation. It is well considered in our lands that a raid is an act of war- and thus decries it. We therefore call on you, if Maar and Normandy refuse to do as required, to honor this alliance.

OOC: I figured it was a NPC, but an NPC at the hands of PC? Now thats just wrong -_-.

Normandy does not have the power to make its own foreign policy, and thus cannot respond to your diplo.

2/16 orders in...

It could rebel.........I mean, erez already abadoned it (I think)
The leaders certainly won't. Also, keep in mind that the most powerful citizens emigrated from Maar to start a colony there, and still consider themselves Maarese...

If someone would go through the thread and list all current diplomatic agreements, the mod would be very grateful (;))...

Alright. War once more! Well, theres a NAP between Eirehann, Prussia, and Brittania- along with a MPP (I think) between Eirehann and Brittania.

Three NAPs concluded by the Sea Peoples this turn:

3 turn NAP between Sea Peoples and Sparta
3 turn NAP between Sea Peoples and Medea
3 turn NAP between Sea Peoples and Egypt

Other than that, I don't have any diplomatic agreements of my own. :)

Insert numerous requests by Atyria for the owner of the northern coast of Anatolia to be fair and just in trade. Honestly, who is ever actually fair and just in trade?

Thanks NK!

“Left.” The training swords clacked together. “Right.” Another clack. “Low. High. Right. High. Right. Left, low.” The instructor and student dueled across the training floor. The student was drenched in sweat, trying to keep the lightning fast blade from smacking him in the side. “Right. Left. Right. High. Right.” Again, the clacking went, blindingly fast, the blades catching each other mere inches from the trainee’s face.

Then the instructor called out, “Left,” once more, and the training sword smashed into the student’s other side in a quick blur. He doubled up in pain, gasping, feeling at his side.

“That wasn’t... You said left, and went right. You lied.”

“My voice lied. My muscles, my body, they did not. Put up your sword, student, it is time to listen now.

“The art of dueling is not the simplistic hacking and slashing that the original swordsmen performed. It is a flowing, graceful art. And in the dance of swords–for it is truly a dance, a dance of death–in the dance of swords, you have no one calling out which way the sword shall come against you. And the man you are dueling, if he is smart, shall try and deceive you–to attack you from a direction that you did not expect.

“It is in times like these, that you must look with your mind, and not with your eyes. Your eyes will only take down notes of what is going on. Alone, they cannot make sense of the noisy light that comes hammering at them. It requires the application of the mind to determine where the next blow shall come from–and the analyzation of that blow so that you can formulate a strategy to win–that can come only from the mind as well.”

The master sighed, and walked to the window of the training hall. Like the rest of the Royal Palace, it overlooked the vast Mediterranean Sea; the great sun was even now setting over its waters; a cascade of beautiful golden light showered across the waters of the sea, glorious and beautiful, yet enjoyed by so few.

“Instructor?” The student called out to the older man.

“Yes?”

“I should like to try the dance once more tonight.”

The instructor smiled. “Of course, my Prince.”

Nice story, even if it is stolen from George R.R. Martin. :p

Give it a title, please.
