JalNES I: Quick and Easy

To: Eire
From: Carthage

We ask you once. Leave Tartessos. Pay 1 EP to help it rebuild. Before we bring down a holy flame of death upon thee! Remember the Berbers!!!!!

FROM: Eirehann
TO: Prussia

We sign this accord and hope that all goes well with your nation in her time of trouble.

OOC: @LM - hehehe, I fondly remember the berbers :D, as for your diplo, I shall craft an appropriate response a little later :p

I have a question. Will the major religions start appearing soon or they dead because of the Sea Peoples dominating that region?

And LB, I hope you know that I (personally) will accept no peace with Carthage- it will burn before any surrender is accepted.

OOC: If that does happen, I will intervene just because the whole thought is absurd and if anyone's burning down Carthage that's going to be me ;) I should also speak that your OOC opinions shouldn't matter at all, of course considering the current history so far I assume you're not exactly roleplaying though neither are many nesers and meh... And for LB, I must apologize in advance, I can't just let you have Tartessos, makes Rome lose face :(

IC:

To Eirehann, Brittannia and Tartessos
From Roman Republic

The withdrawal of your troops from the territory of Tartessos and cessation of hostilites with Tartessos is what Rome desires. Basically a white peace between Eirehann/Brittania and Tartessos and her allies. Rome will thus aid Tartessos in the rebuilding of her country. In addition, a 5 turn NAP between Tartessos and the Northern nations.

We hope this will come to a peaceful conclusion and that trade, ever more prosperous then war, can be restored to her rightful path. :)

EDIT: And the Roman Republic is in no way responsible for the below message from Carthage. We are still sane thank you.

Yea, you best back up before you get yo wigs split. You know what I'm saying?

OOC: As for colour, (as i was asked earlier to change it) it's not that important so i don't mind. This is a bit long in my opinion, but i don't see how to cut it down.

A Typical Intriuge in the Days of Old, Part 4:

Argos walked into the Commoner's Guild trading post. It was just a weak outpost, but this was the only Guild presence in the area.

"Here- my Swissian fingernail. You must have heard of it's importance."
"Yes- I need to let my superiors know this right away!"

Mevel walked down the new road, as the Snipe squad followed.

Mevel walked in to the Commoner's Guild trading post, as the men drew their spears.

"So?" said their leader. "Hyksos wants this fingernail, does he? Wants to show the superiority of the priest caste, eh?"
"No- you misunderstand! Hyksos-"
"No- that is the end of the matter. Leave."

"We have to help him!" exclaimed Mel.
"No- this is the end of the matter! We have to organise an Anti-Priest coalition before it's too late!"
"You think Yetin doesn't see that! We have to move!"
"But- we'd be disobeying orders!"
"I don't know about you, but I’m not taking a pay cut!"

Mel rushed in.

"A Snipe alliance! What is going on!"
"Wait!" said Argos. "The priest looks shocked. This Snipe is obviously not on the same side."
"My squad are under the impression they can hide. I'm the squad leader's right hand man, so he won't shoot me. We've been following Mevel and intending to help him."
"What are Snipes doing help a priest servant- recently a squad of ours stole the Intrigue Map, and your relations are at 30!"
"This is against orders, but sometimes rules are made to be broken.”

Gel gave up, walking out. " Our squad could have assassinated Mevel at any point along that road- it would have been easy! One shot- one kill!"

The Guild leader sighed. "I'm only an outpost leader, but I am beginning to see this is important. Now, explain the full story."

Gel sneezed a little, and started talking "Hyksos and the priest caste are running out of gods to marry to Swissia's family, so Yetin wants to lie and claim a split in the pantheon! With that precedent, they will soon begin reforming Orthodoxy to something that's virtually Scanianism! Hyksos wants a sign to show Yetin that what they are doing is wrong, and asked Mevel to get the Swissian fingernail.”

The Guild leader sighed again. "Alright- I'm Paranodis, and I propose that my squad back you up. We must get this fingernail to the temple before the nobles attack!" He gave it to Mevel. "You guard it."

A group of nobles walked down the road, and confronted them. "Surrender the fingernail" threatened the head noble. "Or we attack!"

"Snipes at the ready!" exclaimed Gel, as his men drew their bows. "Fire!"

All the nobles fell dead.

Another group of nobles rushed in- with shields this time. Paranodis's men rushed in and started fighting. "Into the bushes!" ordered Gel.

The Snipes rushed into the bushes, and drew their bows. "Fire!"

Another squad went down. "OVER THERE!" yelled Argos, pointing.

"Oh no!" exclaimed Paranoidis. "It's a squad of warriors! We're no match for the Warrior Caste- we have to pull back!"
"If we pull back now, we'll be intercepted on the road!"
"We can't beat the Warriors!"
Gel sighed. "We'll hold them!"

To force Paranodis to action, Gel and Mel rushed towards the enemy. Paranodis rushed down along the road, Mevel following behind.

Gel, Mel, and their squad assembled into formation, as the warriors went up to them.

"Such a small thing, and yet so valuable. One fingernail worth more then all the gold in the world" remarked the Warrior leader.
"Draw bows" said Gel, quietly. The squad obeyed.

"You think I didn't see that?" asked the leader.

Gel sighed. “Damn”

The man pointed his sword at Gel's neck. "I, Ogarimus Tedimus, want that fingernail! You will tell me where that fingernail is or you die!"

Gel kicked him in the groin, and ran back a few steps. "Try it."

Ogarimus called to his men. "Squad- move back! I'll show them what I can do!"

The men obeyed without question, as the Snipes encircled Ogarimus. "Finish that idiot!" exclaimed Gel. They started slicing at him with their spears, but Ogarimus parried every blow. He counterattacked with a swipe, and half the Snipes fell. The other half began to run, so he rushed at them and finished them off.

Mel drew his sword. "I fight for the cause of Swissia- he shall protect me!"
Ogarimus rushed at him, slicing. He parried, and Ogarimus pulled back his sword, turning it around and slicing Mel's head off.

"NO!" shouted Gel.

Gel fell into tears, as Ogarimus approached him. "Now- where is that fingernail!"

Gel looked into his eyes. "Yes- I will kill you if you don't tell me." added Ogarimus.
"They've taken a detour to hide in Prussia and hold out for a time! If you hurry, you can stop them!"

Ogarimus smiled. "You see- he's told us the complete truth so quickly! Let's go!"

Gel wiped away his tears. "I have to get back to the others!"

JD, will you please slow down the Updates down to 5-10 years while the wars are taking place.
You know, I'm actually considering that. Obviously, you wouldn't be able to invest in research, and work on domestic things would be lowered. What do people think? Is it necessary?

@KrimzonStriker: Contempt already took Yamato. If you're looking for an Asian nation, I'd recommend Funan--or you could start a Chinese state.

@The Farow: Judaism exists, but it's mostly isolated to the northern Hedjaz. Something like Christianity will form in the right conditions.

I agree with slowing down the updates- there's a lot of intresting things going on. It will also allow me to develop some characters from the actual times in my stories.

My Point exactly.

and as the only Peacfull Power, I say keep them. though a period of millitary growth whould not be un-appreciated,

Really, the current Length is nice enough. we are still in BC people, we do not need to slow things down for the wars. all slowing down the timeline would acomplish whould be to draw out the conflicts. now, if this was the middle ages, or modern age, I would say slow it down.

The Edenites are a cult, a sect that is now spread throughout Sumeria... They're worship in secret as they try to find a place where they can get a new home. Its not a nation, its more like and organization

That is certainly a cool idea. My only point is that now andis know about it. The easiest way to win a war is when your opponent doesn't know he's fighting one.

Well may I ask why would you even get followers? :p

Why do any silly religions get followers, or any silly organizations for that matter?

Because people want to beleive/know there is a salvation, a paradise out their for them to work towards. I'm offering both paradise before and After death.

And because people want to gain power. There are many chances for people to gain power in this Cult, and face it, people like power.

And then there are those people who just don't like Sumeria. Their welcome too.:D

Andis, i won't be in Sumeria for long though, because i think i've found my spot. But it may take oh 2-3 Centuries for my characters to find the spot.

*shakes head* Well if you want to waste your time on something like that, feel free to do so :D

JD and LM: NO! If you're going to lower turn length, lower ALL turn length. It's highly doubtful we'll ever get world peace on any one turn, and times of peace are often just as interesting as war, though some people don't agree, mostly because they have no idea what to do in peace.

I agreed with north king. Personally speaking, I love peace. It's the time that turns my nations into cultural and economic power houses :D Of course, if people were smart they would try and destroy me before I turn into one like in LINESII. :mischief:

I'm afraid I lean with swissempire this time. Persecuted religions tend to be quite successful

I assume you're not going to answer LB ;)

I find it quite difficult to believe that couple teenage boys would manage to form a cult on their own, specially in a completely foreign, potentially hostile country etc. The most likely outcome would be that when those boys make it into sumer, some slave-trader would take them into captivity and sell'em to work in salt mines.

See! And in those salt mines with a bunch of other slaves in low spirits who are willing to accept any form of religion with salvation and preaches against their slavers. There, the religion will spread her influence and thus expand ;)
