Jumpmasters 1B: Power is Knowledge (Vanilla, GOTM mod - Emperor - No research)

Hi folks, just checking in after exhausting family visits. That's quite a little empire we've got! A real eye-opener for me too, since I've never built with anything like that density.

And thanks for not completely finishing the game without me... :)
 
@Gator: You're right! We only need the lighthouse. Don't forget that also gives us safely on seas squares. Then with Chivalry and Bagatur Hordes we can finish this off. One more tech and Ch'ongju is all we need, so why worry about our rep?

@Mistfit: I just looked at the save. Before you use the leader to build the palace, we have a stack of shields in Beijing. I recommend we use them for a one-turn unit - we only waste 4. Otherwise we waste all of them. Also noted that we have an entertainer there who could be a taxman.

I'll still be around until Monday and who knows, I might even get to play another round -even though I concede it is quite unlikely.

About our rep. I agree with you, who cares. The hell with it. Let's crush the Baekje (and the Han at this point), the argument for the great lighthouse is simply compelling.

It's a nice idea to use all those barbs for elite training, though. We might as well give them something to do while we prepare for the next war.

Sorry, double post. Don't forget here's no point training elite units that we're about to upgrade. We need to upgrade first.

I'm not going anywhere soon. Lucky Buggers. I can play early next week or whenever. Heck I could even use it as an excuse to see my family. Either that or you can wait for me to play tonight and get the turns back late, late tonight or early in the A.M. Just let me know.
 
I do think however that we should consolidate our thoughts about the next turn set.

The following is what I can see from scanning the thread that we want to try to accomplish in the next turns:

1.) Before the Leader gets to Bejing - pop a unit out of there
2.) use that leader to get the Palace in Bejing
3.) Get clown out of Bejing hire tax guy
4.) Act like a true Mongol and attack the Han and Baejke despite our rep hit
5.) build galleys for troop transport
6.) no more cats
7.) dont play with the barb isle until our UU comes on line

Anything else?
 
Certainly didn't mean to butt in line - of course Karasu should take his turn!

And the lighthouse plan makes sense to me, as does waiting until upgrades for the Barb hunting.

The two horse units are really cool. They move 9 on roads. I've not used one to fight so no GA yet.
We need some settlers up in the northern area of the mainland to fill in some spots.
It looks as if the other civs are running out of room because Settler pairs are showing up. Tok tried on on the Barb island. I'm Afraid he did not survive that :lol:

It makes a perfect funnel for the barbs to come down the red lane and SPLAT! We kill 'em and become elite. We Can leave an Empty city behind us to spur them on.

Good turns (even if only 5 ;) )

The riots you experienced were due to WW, so you never had a chance to adjust for them. From what I've seen WW is added at the beginning (production phase) of the turn and that is what casued them to riot. Because you ended the wars those unhappy people will now stop their anti-war protest and go back to being productive members of society.

If Karasu can get 1 more in before he leaves for vacation, I say he would be up with you ondeck. If he can't get to it, than you're the man.
