Got it. Not too bad so far I'd say.
I agree with lymond, I'd rather whip a sword than the walls. I'd also prefer to put Athens on sword production soon. The granary won't be much use if we build it regularly, by the time it's finished Athens will have reached its happy cap. I'd rather whip it to completion now and follow up with swords then.
I'll continue building mostly swords and the odd spear or phalanx. Since we're not planning to go on the offense, I'll return to infra builds when we get a comfortable defense.
For that galley down south, I'd send the phalanx S of Argos over to Corinth for defense. And move the settler away from the coast. If the galley contains a settler for the silk, I'd settle our location immediately. Will try to dispatch a sword or phalanx over there to protect the new city in that case.
The beginning of the war will be mostly in our borders, if the situation improves I'd try to head towards Coimbra. I don't expect to capture it, but we can pillage the phants and maybe scare Joao into a more favorable peace.
We're at 0.4 of Joao's power even now, I don't think we're really in danger in this war. Unless WW becomes a major issue, I don't think we need to consider any peace deal where we're expected to throw in anything more than some small change.
Charlie has 5gpt for trade, I'd cancel the fish for sheep deal and get his gpt instead. We have plenty of health.
Research-wise, music it is then, with a Philo bulb when the GS comes in. I'd bulb Philo even if Willem gets it first. If it comes up, I'll trade for Construction with Izzy or Monty, both are backwards and we have plenty to offer to them. If she offers it, I'd take Theology from Izzy as well if it still has trade value then.
I will keep the slider at 0% for now to get cash for some emergency upgrades, Corinth in particular might need one depending on what's on that galley.
