Lamest Slogans

"Where do you want to go today?" -Microsoft

With your software, I'm not going anywhere.

Some sponsorships are sooo lame too; like The Bill. And then there's the adverts. The Hunt for the Rowntrer, the annoying little spas-kid advertising Robinsons et cetera

What's your favourite lame slogan? Mine has to be kellog's Frosties- They're Great!

Ariel's new ad campaign here in Finland, in the end of each of their commercials,
there comes this horrible screaming overpositive voice, that says..:
"Ei vain puhdasta... vaan YLLÄTYSPUHDASTA!", which means:
"Not just clean... it's SURPRISINGLY CLEAN!"
:rolleyes: :salmon:

Around here sometimes you see ads for Bird's Custard (cooking and baking products). You don't need a slogan to make things worse.

Here in Australia is patriotism is rife we have levels of patriotism is slogans;

1: Australian owned and made (this is good because it's jobs for us)

2: Australian made (We get to work but lose the profits to offshore)

3: Australian Owned (No work but make millions from exploiting kids in south east asian sweat-shops)

and my personal favorite, used when none of the above apply:

4: Enjoyed by Australians for over 80 years (Meaning we get no money and someone else makes millions out of the SE asian kids!!)

I saw an ad from UPS or something like that...a browned-logo company. They said something like "I can't get enough of the brown" Anyway, in french, it sounded like a sodomy inside joke :D

Of all the chocolate bars available in the UK, TWIX has NEVER had a good slogan. In fact, every one of them has been rubbish. The latest one :-

"TWIX - it's all in the mix"

I mean, Jesus!? Whats that all about? They should have given those advertising blokes a bit more cocaine before they went into that meeting!

Also, those adverts which have been clearly designed to be shown in every european country simply by changing the voiceover/dubbing annoy me. Especially the bloody Fiat Stilo one with Totti playing football in his back garden - it's on every 15 mins here!:mad:

Tell me about it, everytime I see this spot I feel the urge to kick the tv-set.

And TWIX is and will always be Raider to me.

A small correction;
"With your software, I CAN NOT go anywhere.
:crazyeye:

In the North of England there's a tendancy for small businessmen to do their own adverts - talking straight to camera about how good their prices etc are (usually carpet shops). Unsurprisingly they are laughably bad, but I kinda admire their nerve.

Anyone outside the UK have similar advertising campaigns on their TV? I think the US have similar adverts featuring used-car dealers, but I may have just watched too many films.

No, you have it right Rodgers...but usually they are yelling at the cameras to make up for the lack of substance in the commercial. :D

It's not a lame slogan as such, but I would like to bring the TV advert for the Polti Vaporetto to everyone's attention.
I'm sure that the Europeans here must have seen it as it is on in loads of countries. It is absolutely shocking, plumbing new depths in low quality and has the worst voice synching I have seen on TV. But the main question has to be: What is the original language? I have seen the adverts in English, French and German and the lip-synching is some way off. My brother has seen it in Italy and it doesn't seem to bear much resemblance to that language so which could it possibly be?

Btw - "It steams, it cleans!"

I believe everyone has seen it, and it is more funny than lame, but the Septic Tank trunk with the slogan "Your **** is our bread and butter". <- Pretty gross!

I hate that one too. But I would be interested to hear who he is playing with in the English version. I mean who is sending hum that message in the car?

In Barry Cryer's autobiography he relates seeing an advertisement sign in the Sixties showing a woman, smoking, with the slogan 'Only a Camel can satisfy me'.

Hitro - it's Emile Heskey over here!? He looks pretty dim - I doubt he could drive never mind send a message to an Italian car. Who have you got in yours?
